Abstract

Kuningan merupakan daerah yang memiliki nilai budaya dan sejarah, dan kuda menjadi ciri khas kota ini, kuda di daerah Kuningan dahulunya adalah tunggangan pangeran arya adipati kuningan. Yang dikenal dengan sebutan kuda si Windu, Seiring berjalannya waktu kuda tunggangan yang terkenal dengan kelincahannya semakin hari semakin musnah, maka pada tahun 1962 masyarakat kuningan mengusulkan untuk mengabadikan kuda tersebut, dan oleh bupati Aruman Wirananggapati kuda tunggangan tersbut dijadikan Ikon kota kuningan, dijadikanlah monumen kuda yang sekarang berada di tengah-tengah kota Kuningan, sejak saat itu pula kuda di Kuningan tidak lagi menjadi tunggangan pribadi, dan sekarang beralih fungsi menjadi kuda sebagai alat transfortasi yaitu kuda delman yang banyak di pakai masyarakat kuningan, penulis sebagai putra daerah tertarik untuk menjadikan sebuah ide atau gagasan berkarya seni grafis cetak tinggi dalam tugas akhir skripsi penciptaan dengan judul “KUDA DARI KUNINGAN SEBAGAI GAGASAN BERKARYA SENI GRAFIS CETAK TINGGI”. Rumusan masalah penciptaan ini adalah Bagaimana mengembangkan konsep berkarya seni grafis sebagai gagasan kuda kuningan?, Bagaimana proses visualisasi konsep gagasan kuda kuningan dalam bentuk karya grafis?.Tujuan penciptaan ini adalah Menelaah bentuk dari patung kuda kuningan itu sendiri berupa dokumentasi Selanjutnya diaplikasikan ke dalam proses pembuatan karya grafis. metode penciptaan yang digunakan adalah ide berkarya, kontemplasi, stimulus berkarya dan pengolahan ide. Teknik atau proses pembuatan berkarya yang penulis lakukan adalah menggunakan teknik grafis cetak tinggi dengan media karet lino, pemilihan teknik disesuaikan dengan karakter objek yang ingin dicapai. Bentuk visual seni grafis yang dihasilkan beragam ukuran bentuk dan komposisi, hasil dari penciptaan ini adalah enam karya seni grafis. warna yang ditampilkan adalah coklat yang mengesankan tenang, kuning jingga berarti terbuka, hijau untuk tenang, merah ungu untuk tekanan, merah berarti menarik dan biru untuk lembut. Pada keenam karya, penulis konsisten dengan warna biru untuk langit, warna coklat untuk objek kuda, baik patung kuda maupun kuda delman, dan warna hijau untuk tumbuhan baik itu pepohonan dan tumbuhan lainnya, Adapun rekomendasi yang dapat penulis sampaikan bagi pemerintah daerah setempat ialah diharapkan untuk meningkatkan kembali pengaplikasian ikon kuda kuningan terhadap berbagai seni lainnya khususnya seni grafis. Kata Kunci: Kuda dari Kuningan, grafis cetak tinggi Kuningan is a region which have so many cultures and histories. Horses are the icon of Kuningan. Kuningan horses used to be Prince Arya Adipati Kuningan’s ride. The Horses are called Windu horses. In line with time, the horses are getting extinct. To prevent the horses from extinction, in 1962, Kuningan people are proposing Horses to be the icon of Kuningan and then the regent of Kuningan, Aruman Wirananggapati makes it official. After that, a monumental horse statue is made in the center of Kuningan to remind the people of horses as the icon of Kuningan. Since then, the horses in Kuningan become the main transportation of Kuningan as Delman or horse cart. As the native of Kuingan, the writer is interested to make horses as an idea to create a high print graphic artwork as the creation final assignment with the title “HORSES FROM KUNINGAN AS AN IDEA TO CREATE HIGH PRINT GRAPHIC ARTWORK”. The research question is how to develop the concept of horses as an idea to create high graphic art? And How to visualize the concept into a high graphic art?. The purpose of this study is to analyze the shape of the horse sculpture trough photographs and pictures and the applied it to the creation of the artwork. The methods used are idea creation, contemplation, working stimulus and idea processing. The technique or the process of the artwork creation used by the writer is high print graphics techniques with lino rubber media, the selection of techniques customized to the character of the object. The visual forms of graphic arts that are produced different in size, shape and composition. The result of the creation are six graphic artworks. The brown color that is produced connotes relaxation, orange connotes openness, green connotes calmness, purple connotes tense, red connotes attractiveness and blue connotes softness. In the six artworks, the author is consistent with blue color for the sky, brown color for horses object, either the horse statue or the Delman or horse cart, and green color for trees and other plants. Lastly the writer convey a recommendation to the local government, the government is expected to improve the application of horses as the icon of Kuningan to the various other arts, especially graphic arts.
