    Abstract

    Rendahnya kemampuan menulis teks deskripsi peserta didik di sekolah dasar serta tuntutan
    guru untuk senantiasa mengembangkan media pembelajaran menjadi latar belakang
    terlaksananya penelitian ini. Penggunaan media pembelajaran merupakan salah satu upaya
    untuk membantu pemahaman peserta didik dalam memperoleh informasi yang
    disampaikan oleh guru. Selain itu penggunaan media pembelajaran juga mampu menjadi
    daya tarik tersendiri selama proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji
    pengaruh penggunaan media gambar lambang negara Indonesia terhadap kemampuan
    menulis peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pre-experiment one group
    design. Penelitian ini melibatkan objek berjumlah 27 peserta didik kelas III di SDN 4
    Ciamis dengan menggunakan dua varibel, yaitu variable bebas berupa media gambar
    lambang negara Indonesia dan varibel terikat yaitu keterampilan menulis teks deskripsi.
    Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sebanyak tiga kali pertemuan, di mana pertemuan pertama dan
    pertemuan kedua merupakan tahap persiapan dan pelaksanaan pretest. Hasil pretest peserta
    didik menunjukan jumlah nilai rata-rata skor sebesar 36,96. Kemudian pada pertemuan
    ketiga dilaksakan kegiatan posttest dan nilai rata-rata kemampuan menulis peserta didik
    meningkat sebesar 84,95. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan data yang sudah didapat dapat
    disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar lambang negara Indonesia efektif untuk
    digunakan dan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa sekolah dasar.

    The low ability to write descriptive texts of students in elementary schools and the demands
    of teachers to always develop instructional media are the background for the
    implementation of this research. The use of learning media is one of the efforts to help
    students understand in obtaining information conveyed by the teacher. In addition, the use
    of learning media can also be a special attraction during the learning process. This study
    aims to examine the effect of using media images of the Indonesian state symbol on students'
    writing abilities. This research is a type of research pre-experiment one group design. This
    study involved 27 class III students at SDN 4 Ciamis using two variables, namely the
    independent variable in the form of media images of the Indonesian state symbol and the
    dependent variable, namely the skill of writing descriptive text. This research was
    conducted in three meetings, where the first meeting and the second meeting were the
    preparation and implementation stages of the pretest. The results of the students' pretest
    showed that the average score was 36.96. Then at the third meeting the posttest was carried
    out and the average score of the students' writing ability increased by 84.95. Based on the
    results of the research and the data that has been obtained, it can be concluded that the
    use of media images of the Indonesian state symbol is effective for use and is able to
    improve the writing skills of elementary school students.
