Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh penggunaan bahan ajar di dalam kelas 11 BIPA level ab initio Bandung Independent School kurang mengakomodasi dalam mengasah keterampilan membaca siswa. Keterampilan membaca siswa masih terdapat banyak kekurangan. Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan kesulitan dalam menguasai keterampilan membaca yaitu dalam pemaknaan kosakata, tata bahasa, serta struktur kalimat yang baik dan benar. Terdapat siswa yang memiliki motivasi rendah serta kinerja akademik yang kurang memuaskan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-modul interaktif keterampilan membaca berbasis kurikulum International Baccalaureate bagi siswa BIPA level Ab Initio sebagai bahan ajar yang menarik dalam memfasilitasi pemahaman siswa kelas 11 BIPA level ab initio Bandung Independent School. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Research and Development/R&D). Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model ADDIE (analyze, design, develop, implement, dan evaluate). E-modul dikembangkan berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan, analisis kurikulum IB, dan karakteristik siswa. E-modul ini dikembangkan dengan indikator pencapaian kompetensi dan tujuan pembelajaran kurikulum IB. E-modul dinilai oleh para ahli diantaranya: (1) Dosen Ahli BIPA; (2) Praktisi BIPA; dan (3) Ahli Media. E-modul diimplementasikan kepada siswa kelas 11 BIPA level ab initio Bandung Independent School. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa e-modul interaktif keterampilan membaca berbasis kurikulum International Baccalaureate (IB) bagi siswa BIPA level Ab Initio memperoleh respons positif dari siswa dan pengajar BIPA. Hasil dari penelitian pengembangan e-modul interaktif keterampilan membaca berbasis kurikulum International Baccalaureate bagi siswa BIPA level ab initio diperoleh hasil validasi Dosen Ahli BIPA dengan persentase 96,5% yang dikategorikan “sangat layak”, Ahli BIPA dengan persentase 91,4% yang dikategorikan “sangat layak”, Ahli BIPA dengan persentase 95,5% yang dikategorikan “sangat layak”. Hasil angket respons siswa terhadap e-modul mencapai 93,85% yang dikategorikan “sangat menarik” dan angket respons pengajar BIPA terhadap e-modul mencapai 86% yang dikategorikan “sangat menarik”. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan e-modul interaktif keterampilan membaca berbasis kurikulum International Baccalaureate bagi siswa BIPA level ab initio memiliki potensi sebagai bahan ajar inovatif yang dapat digunakan untuk mendukung siswa BIPA di level ab initio dalam mencapai indikator kompetensi pencapaian dan tujuan pembelajaran kurikulum IB khususnya untuk keterampilan membaca di era digital saat ini. This research is motivated by the use of teaching materials in grade 11 BIPA ab initio level Bandung Independent School which does not accommodate students' reading skills. There are still many deficiencies in students' reading skills. In addition, students showed difficulties in mastering reading skills, namely in the meaning of vocabulary, grammar, and good and correct sentence structure. There are students who have low motivation and unsatisfactory academic performance. This study aims to develop an interactive e-module for reading skills based on the international baccalaureate curriculum for BIPA Ab Initio level students as an interesting teaching material in facilitating understanding of class 11 BIPA students at the ab initio level Bandung Independent School. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). The development model used in this research is the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). The e-module was developed based on a needs analysis, an analysis of the IB curriculum, and student characteristics. This e-module was developed with indicators of competency achievement and learning objectives of the IB curriculum. The e-module was assessed by experts including: (1) BIPA Expert Lecturer; (2) BIPA Practitioners; and (3) Media Expert. The e-module was implemented for 11 BIPA students at the Bandung Independent School ab initio level. The findings show that the Interactive e-module for reading skills based on the International Baccalaureate curriculum for BIPA ab initio level students received a positive response from BIPA students and teachers. The results of the development of an interactive e-module for reading skills based on the International Baccalaureate curriculum for BIPA ab initio level students obtained the validation results of BIPA Expert Lecturers with a percentage of 96.5% which was categorized as "very decent", BIPA Experts with a percentage of 91.4% which were categorized "very decent", BIPA Expert with a percentage of 95.5% which is categorized as "very decent". The results of the student response questionnaire to the e-module reached 93.85% which was categorized as "very interesting" and the BIPA teacher's response questionnaire to the e-module reached 86% which was categorized as "very interesting". The results showed that the development of an interactive e-module for reading skills based on the International Baccalaureate curriculum for BIPA ab initio level students has potential as innovative teaching materials that can be used to support BIPA students at the ab initio level in achieving competency indicators of achievement and learning objectives of the IB curriculum, especially for reading skills in today's digital era.
