Abstract

Abstrak. Kemampuan representasi matematis sangat penting karena kemampuan ini merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa pada pembelajaran kurikulum 2013, namun pada kenyataannya kemampuan representasi matematis masih rendah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa setelah menggunakan model TPS (Think Pair Share) pada materi penyajian data kelas V. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode pre-eksperimen. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi kelas 5A tahun ajaran 2022-2023 di SDN 197 Karangtaruna Karangsari Kota Bandung, dengan sampel 30 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan representasi matematis. Data yang terkumpul diolah dengan bantuan aplikasi Microsoft Excel dan SPSS 26.0 for windows. Hasil penelitian diperoleh data bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa setelah diterapkan model TPS (Think Pair Share). Peningkatan nilai terendah dan tertinggi yaitu sebesar 30%, sedangkan untuk nilai rata-rata terjadi peningkatan sebesar 23%. Pada saat dilakukan uji hipotesis didapatkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,00 (signifikan). Didapatkan hasil N-Gain berada pada kriteria sedang dan berada pada tingkat kurang efektif. Adapun rekomendasi bagi peneliti selanjutnya, penulis merekomendasikan penelitian ini menjadi bahan untuk referensi dalam penelitian berikutnya baik mengenai materi pada representasi matematis atau model pembelajarannya. The ability of mathematical representation is very important because this ability is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students in learning the 2013 curriculum, but in reality the ability of mathematical representation is still low. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in students' mathematical representation abilities after using the TPS (Think Pair Share) model in class V data presentation material. The method used was the pre-experimental method. The subjects of this study were class 5A students for the 2022-2023 academic year at SDN 197 Karangtaruna Karangsari, Bandung City, with a sample of 30 students. The research instrument used was a mathematical representation ability test. The collected data was processed with the help of Microsoft Excel and SPSS 26.0 for windows applications. The results of the study obtained data that there was an increase in students' mathematical representation skills after applying the TPS (Think Pair Share) model. The increase in the lowest and highest scores was 30%, while for the average value there was an increase of 23%. When testing the hypothesis, a significance value of 0.00 (significant) is obtained. It was found that the N-Gain results were in the medium criteria and were at a less effective level. As for recommendations for future researchers, the authors recommend that this research be used as material for reference in future studies both regarding material in mathematical representations or learning models.
