Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman peserta didik terkait konsep perkalian bilangan cacah pada kelas III SD. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Menghasilkan desain awal pengembangan bahan ajar, 2) Mengetahui penilaian ahli mengenai pengembangan bahan ajar, 3) Menghasilkan produk akhir pengembangan bahan ajar, dan 4) Mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis pesert didik setelah dilakukan uji coba bahan ajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Design and Development (D&D) dengan model penelitian PPE (Planning, Production and Evaluation) yang dikembangkan oleh Richey dan Klein. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara dan tes. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas III Sekolah dasar. Temuan pada penelitian ini adalah: 1) Desain awal pengembangan bahan ajar perkalian bilangan cacah menghasilkan tujuan pembelajaran dan gambaran isi bahan ajar yang disesuaikan dengan pendekatan RME. 2) Hasil penilaian validasi para ahli yang menyatakan bahwa pengembangan bahan ajar perkalian bilangan cacah berada pada kategori sangat layak dengan presentase masing-masing rata-rata adalah 90% dan 92,5%. 3) Berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep perkalian setelah uji coba terbatas keterbacaan bahan ajar perkalian bilangan cacah dengan rata-rata nilai pre-test 31 dan rata-rata nilai post-test 62 dengan kategori cukup. 4) Dilakukan perbaikan berdasarkan masalah yang dialami pada saat proses uji coba agar mendapatkan produk akhir bahan ajar yang sangat layak digunakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perkalian bilangan cacah. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pengembangan bahan ajar perkalian bilangan cacah berbasis RME berada pada kategori sangat layak digunakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik. This research is motivated by the lack of understanding of students regarding the concept of multiplication of whole numbers in class III SD. The purposes of this study were: 1) To produce an initial design for the development of teaching materials, 2) To know the expert's assessment of the development of teaching materials, 3) To produce the final product for the development of teaching materials, and 4) To know the increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts after trials of teaching materials. The research method used is Design and Development (D&D) with the PPE (Planning, Production and Evaluation) research model developed by Richey and Klein. The research instruments used in this study were interviews and tests. The subjects of this study were students of class III elementary school. The findings of this research are: 1) The initial design for developing whole number multiplication teaching materials produces learning objectives and descriptions of the content of teaching materials that are adapted to the RME approach. 2) The results of the expert validation assessment stated that the development of whole number multiplication teaching materials was in the very feasible category with average percentages of 90% and 92.5% respectively. 3) Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, it shows an increase in the ability to understand the concept of multiplication after a limited trial of readability of whole number multiplication teaching materials with an average pre-test score of 31 and an average post-test score of 62 in the sufficient category. 4) Improvements are made based on problems experienced during the testing process in order to obtain a final product of teaching materials that is suitable for use as an effort to increase understanding of the concept of multiplication of whole numbers. The conclusion of this research is that the development of RME-based whole number multiplication teaching materials is in the very suitable category for use as an effort to increase students' understanding of mathematical concepts.
