Abstract
Elementary school students with a low level of ability to play volleyball need to be treated through a program with an appropriate approach so that students are able to play mini volleyball. This study aims to determine the effect and comparison of Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) with conventional learning on the ability to play mini volleyball in elementary schools. The method used in this study was an experiment with a Nonequivalent kontrol group design with a population of 153 active students in grade 5 at SDN 053 Cisisitu. The research instrumen used observation sheets and tests from the Games PerFormance Assessment Instrumen (GPAI) to measure the ability to play mini volleyball. Data analysis used in this study was descriptive analysis, Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene Statistical test, Paired Sampel T-Test, Independentt Sampel T-Test and N-Gain Score test through the IBM SPSS version 25 application. There is a significant influence in Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) learning with a value of 20.506 > 2.131 and there is an influence on conventional learning with a Tcount of 2.611 > 2.131. Teaching Games for Understanding (TGFU) has a higher level of effectiveness with a value of 59.6% while the kontrol group is 38.4%. So it can be concluded that there are significant influences and differences in teaching games For understanding (TGFU) learning on the ability to play mini volleyball in elementary schools.
