Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengujicobakan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media Youtube pada pembelajaran menulis teks berita di kelas VIII SMP. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterampilan menulis teks berita siswa yang masih kurang serta rendahnya minat siswa dalam menulis teks berita. Hal tersebut dapat terjadi karena siswa kesulitan mencari dan menuangkan ide atau gagasan yang dimilikinya dalam menulis teks berita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Katapang. Pada penelitian ini siswa kelas VIII-I sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VIII-J sebagai kelas eksperimen yang ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan hasil tes dan nontes. Data hasil tes yang digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa berupa prates dan pascates sedangkan data nontes yang digunakan berupa hasil observasi dan angket respon siswa.Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji statistik dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS versi 29. hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi <0,001, yakni Lebih kecil dari 0,05 maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil menulis teks berita siswa yang mendapat perlakuan berupa penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media Youtube dengan siswa yang tidak mendapat perlakuan berupa penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media Youtube.; The purpose of this research is piloted Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Youtube media in learning to write news texts in grade VIII junior high school. The background of this research is lack of student's writing skills and low of interest for students to write news texts. That thing can be happened because student difficult to find and implemented their idea or thought that they have in write news texts. This research using quasi-experimental method with research design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects in this research were grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Katapang. In this research is students grade VIII-I as control class and grade VIII-J as experiment class which determined by using sampling purposive technique. Data collection in this study using result of test and non-test. Test data result used to measure ability of students in writing news text in the form of pre-test and post-test while non-test data used in the form of observation results and student response questionnaires. Data analysis technique in this study using statistics test with help of SPSS application version 29. The results of data analysis show that the significance value is <0.001, which is less than 0.05, then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the student results of writing news text who receive treatment in form of implementing Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with Youtube media with student that not receive treatment in form of implementing Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with Youtube media.
