Abstract

Audio Visual merupakan media modern yang menampilkan komponen gambar dan disertai dengan suara yang diolah secara bersamaan kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk presentasi, pertunjukkan dan program pengembangan pengetahuan. Audio Visual dapat di aplikasikan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk remaja Down Syndrome dalam memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan tentang pemahaman perubahan fisik pada masa pubertas. Down Syndrome adalah suatu ganguan genetika paling umum yang menyebabkan perbedaan kemampuan belajar dan ciri- ciri tertentu, pembelajaran tentang perubaham fisik pada masa pubertas untuk remaja Down Syndrome dapat dilaksanakan dengan baik jika didukung dengan media yang memadai. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui penggunaan Audio- Visual dalam meningkatkan pemahaman perubahan fisik pada remaja Down Syndrome di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan pendekatan Single Subject Research dan menggunakan desain A-B-A, tedapat dua kondisi kontrol (baseline) sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil penelitian dapat dikemukakan bahwa ditemukan peningkatan pemahaman konsep perubahan fisik setelah diberikan intervensi. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Audio Visual efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perubahan fisik pada remaja Down Syndrome. Audio Visual is a modern media that displays image components and is accompanied by sound which is processed simultaneously and then presented in the form of presentations, demonstrations and knowledge development programs. Audio Visual can be applied as a medium for Down Syndrome adolescents to provide information and knowledge about understanding physical changes during puberty. Down Syndrome is the most common genetic disorder that causes differences in learning abilities and certain characteristics, learning about physical changes during puberty for Down Syndrome adolescents can be carried out properly if supported by adequate media. The aim of the study was to find out the use of Audio Visual in increasing understanding of physical changes in Down Syndrome adolescents at school. This study used an experimental method with a Single Subject Research approach and used an A-B-A design, there were two control conditions (baseline) before and after the intervention. The results of the study can be stated that there was an increase in understanding of the concept of physical changes after being given an intervention. So it can be concluded that Audio Visual media is effective for increasing understanding of the concept of physical changes in Down Syndrome adolescents.
