Abstract
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dukungan sosial
teman sebaya dan dosen terhadap resiliensi akademik mahasiswa rantau UPI yang
berasal dari luar Jawa Barat. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan
kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi linear berganda. Terdapat tiga alat ukur
yang digunakan, yaitu The Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) yang diadaptasi
oleh Aini (2020), Social Provisions Scale (SPS) yang diadaptasi oleh Sari (2014),
dan alat ukur dukungan sosial dosen yang diadaptasi oleh Ulfa (2019). Hasil
penelitian dari 490 mahasiswa rantau UPI dari luar Jawa Barat menunjukkan bahwa
hipotesis penelitian diterima, yaitu terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari
dukungan sosial teman sebaya (β = 0,168, t = 4,083, p < 0,001) dan dukungan sosial
dosen (β = 0,716, t = 17,441, p < 0,001) terhadap resiliensi akademik mahasiswa
rantau, F (2, 487) = 687,813, p < 0,001. Dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan dosen
dapat memberikan pengaruh sebesar 73,9% terhadap resiliensi akademik
mahasiswa rantau. Maka, semakin tinggi dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan dosen,
maka semakin tinggi pula resiliensi akademik mahasiswa rantau UPI yang berasal
dari luar Jawa Barat. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial teman sebaya
dan dosen dapat berdampak positif bagi mahasiswa rantau, sehingga mahasiswa
dapat menafsirkan kesulitan dalam bidang akademik sebagai suatu kesempatan
untuk berkembang, dibandingkan suatu hal yang berdampak negatif terhadap diri.
Hasil penelitian dapat menjadi landasan untuk mengembangkan dukungan sosial
yang lebih baik terhadap mahasiswa rantau untuk membantu mahasiswa
menghadapi kesulitan akademik yang dihadapi.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of social support from peers and
lecturers on the academic resilience of undergraduates in UPI that came from
outside of West Java. The research method uses a quantitative approach with
multiple linear regression analysis techniques. There are three measuring
instruments used, namely The Academic Resilience Scale (ARS-30) adapted by
Aini (2020), the Social Provisions Scale (SPS) adapted by Sari (2014), and the
measuring tool for social support for lecturers adapted by Ulfa ( 2019). The results
from 490 participants showed that the research hypothesis was accepted, namely
that there was a significant effect of peer social support (β = 0.168, t = 4.083, p
<0.001) and lecturer social support (β = 0.716, t = 17.441, p <0.001) on resilience
academics of UPI undergraduates from outside of West Java, F (2, 487) = 687.813,
p <0.001. Social support from peers and lecturers can have an effect of 73.9% of
UPI undergraduates from outside of West Java. These results indicate that the social
support of peers and lecturers can have a positive impact on undergraduates from
other cities, where undergraduates can interpret difficulties in the academic field as
an opportunity for growth, rather than something that has a negative impact on
themselves. The results of this research can be a basis for developing better social
support for undergraduates from other regions to help them deal with the academic
difficulties that they might face.
