    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menguji pengaruh regulasi emosi dan empati terhadap agresi verbal pada remaja awal di Kabupaten Kuningan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan melibatkan 398 responden remaja awal di Kabupaten Kuningan. Regulasi emosi diukur menggunakan Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) dengan reliabilitas ERQ reappraisal 0.79 dan ERQ suppression 0.77. Empati diukur menggunakan Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) dengan reliabilitas 0.80. Serta, agresi verbal diukur menggunakan Skala Agresivitas Verbal dengan reliabilitas 0.767. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik simple random sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis regresi linear sederhana dan berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh negatif antara regulasi emosi dan empati terhadap agresi verbal. Hal ini bermakna bahwa semakin rendahnya regulasi emosi dan empati akan berpengaruh pada semakin tingginya agresi verbal.

    This study was conducted with the aim to examine the effect of emotion regulation and empathy on verbal aggression in early adolesence in Kuningan Regency. This study used a quantitative approach and involved 398 respondents of early adolesence in Kuningan Regency. Emotion regulation was measured using the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) with an ERQ reappraisal reliability of 0.79 and an ERQ suppression of 0.77. Empathy was measured using Interpersonal Reactivity Index (IRI) with a reliability of 0.80. Also, verbal aggression was measured using the Verbal Aggressiveness Scale with a reliability of 0.767. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling technique. The data analysis techniques used are simple and multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results of this study show that there is a negative influence between emotion regulation and empathy on verbal aggression. This means that the lower the emotional regulation and empathy will have an effect on the higher the verbal aggression.
