Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan belajar siswa kelas dan faktor penyebab siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita operasi hitung campuran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas III yang berjumlah 6 siswa di SDN 4 Nagrikaler, Kab. Purwakarta. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa tes soal, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat lima kesalahan dan kesulitan dalam mengerjakan soal cerita materi operasi hitung campuran yang dilakukan oleh siswa berdasarkan teori Newman. Adapun penyebab yang dilakukan siswa meliputi kemampuan pemahaman siswa dalam membaca soal matematika rendah, ketelitian siswa dalam menjawab soal rendah, tidak dapat menggunakan komputasi dengan benar, tidak paham dalam menentukan sistematika penyelesaian soal dan tidak terbiasa menuliskan jawaban akhir. Adapun faktor penyebab siswa mengalami kesulitan adalah dari faktor internal yaitu dari diri siswa itu sendiri kurang pahamnya materi yang diajarkan kurangnya waktu belajar. Kemudian faktor eksternal yaitu kurangnya dukungan dari orang tua dalam membimbing siswa belajar di rumah dan kurangnya variasi metode yang guru ajarkan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Kata kunci : Analisis, Kesulitan, Matematika, Soal Cerita, Operasi Hitung ----- This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties of class students and the factors that cause students to solve mixed arithmetic operations word problems. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of this study were six students in grade III at SDN 4 Nagrikaler, Kab. Purwakarta. Data collection techniques in the form of test questions, interviews, and documentation. Data validity using triangulation techniques. The results of the study showed that there were five mistakes and difficulties in working on word problems on mixed arithmetic operations by students based on Newman's theory. The reasons that students did so included students' comprehension abilities in reading math problems were low, students' accuracy in answering questions was low, they could not use computing properly, they did not understand the systematics of solving problems and they were not used to writing down the final answer. The factors that cause students to experience difficulties are from internal factors, namely from the students themselves lack of understanding of the material being taught, lack of study time. Then external factors, namely the lack of support from parents in guiding students to study at home and the lack of variations in the methods that teachers teach in learning mathematics.
