Abstract
Polisemi adalah sebuah kata yang memiliki makna lebih dari satu yang berkaitan satu sama lainnya. Keberadaan polisemi ini tidak hanya ada di bahasa Indonesia, tetapi juga ada di bahasa Jepang yang menimbulkan kesulitan para pembelajar bahasa Jepang saat mempelajarinya. Verba Tobu adalah salah satu polisemi dalam bahasa Jepang, oleh karena itu penulis melakukan analisis terhadap verba tobu sebagai polisemi untuk mengetahui makna yang terkandung dalam verba tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan antar makna, digunakan majas metafora, metonimi, dan sinekdoke. Dari hasil analisis disimpulkan bahwa makna dasar verba tobu adalah (1) terbang (aktivitas bergerak ataupun melayang di udara dengan kemampuan sendiri). Makna perluasan dari verba tobu adalah (2) lompat, (3) bertaburan/bertebaran, (4) lari kencang, (5) terlewat, (6) bergegas, (7) hilang, (8) putus, (9) tersebar luas, (10) diteriaki, (11) menciprat, (12) menelan/memakai, (13) melesat, (14) pergi (naik pesawat), (15) kabur, (16) mengeluarkan suara, (17) menguap dan (18) melayang. Makna verba tobu yang mengalami perluasan secara metafora adalah makna (2)(4)(6)(12)(15), makna verba tobu yang mengalami perluasan secara metonimi adalah makna (3)(5)(7)(8)(9)(10)(11)(14)(16)(17), dan makna verba tobu yang mengalami perluasan secara sinekdoke adalah makna (13) dan (18). Polysemy is a word that has more than one meaning that related to one another. The existence of this polysemy does not only exist in Indonesian, but also in Japanese which creates difficulties for Japanese language learners when learning it. Tobu verb is one of polysemy in Japanese, therefore the writer analyzes tobu verb as polysemy to find out the meaning contained in the verb. The research method used is descriptive analysis. To describe the relationship between meanings, metaphor, metonymy, and synecdoche are used. From the results of the analysis it is concluded that the basic meaning of the verb tobu is (1) flying (the activity of moving or hovering in the air with one's own abilities). The expanded meaning of the verb tobu is (2) jump, (3) scattered, (4) ran fast, (5) skipped, (6) rushed, (7) lost, (8) separated, (9) spread, (10) shouted, (11) splashed, (12) swallowed/used, (13) darted, (14) went (with plane), (15) runs away, (16) makes a sound, (17) evaporate and (18) floats up. The meaning of the verb tobu which has been expanded metaphorically is the meaning of (2)(4)(6)(12)(15), the meaning of the verb tobu which has been expanded metonymically is the meaning of (3)(5)(7)(8)(9)(10)(11)(14)(16)(17), and the meaning of the verb tobu which has been expanded synecdoche is the meanings (13) and (18).
