Abstract
Problem-solving skills are closely related in everyday life, while it is important to be taught in all fields, especially in mathematics. However, the ability to solve problems in mathematics has not received much attention from teachers. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model on improving students' problem-solving abilities on fractional material. This research includes a quantitative research approach with the type of experiment. The population included in this study was all students of SDN Serang 07 from grade I to grade VI, and with a sample of classes VA and VB totaling 63 students. In the analysis of the results of this research data assisted by SPSS 25 and Microsoft Excel. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that, after the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model was applied to fractional material, students' problem-solving abilities improved. With pretest and posttest averages in experimental classes of 64.7 and 75.8 and averages in control classes of 62.5 and 66.2. While the experimental class N-Gain obtained a value of 0.33 which is included in the medium category. And the results of the independent sample test which is below 0.05, which is 0.004, show that the average results in the experimental and control classes are different, and the influence of the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model, there is an influence on increasing students' problem-solving abilities on fractional material.
