Abstract

Menyimak merupakan suatu proses mendengarkan sesuatu dengan penuh pemahaman, dengan proses tersebut dapat mendapatkan informasi dari hasil menyimak dengan apa yang kita pahami. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya permasalahan dalam kemampuan menyimak pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang dilakukan di SDN 3 Nagri Tengah Kabupaten Purwakarta dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 5 orang siswa yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan menyimak cerita, mengetahui faktor penghambat kemampuan menyimak cerita, dan mengetahui solusi yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak cerita siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah tes kepada siswa dan wawancara kepada siswa, orang tua serta guru. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan menyimak cerita siswa kelas V sekolah dasar berbeda-beda. Dilihat dari hasil penelitian 5 orang siswa, 3 orang siswa dikategorikan baik, 1 orang siwa dikategorikan cukup, dan 1 orang dikategorikan kurang. Faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan menyimak cerita yaitu dari faktor fisiologis, faktor intelektual, faktor lingkungan, dan faktor psikologis. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak cerita siswa yaitu dapat membiasakan siswa untu menyimak setiap hari dengan bimbingan guru serta orang tua, serta dibantu dengan pembuatan media pembelajaran. ----- Listening is a process of listening to something with full understanding, with this process we can get information from listening to what we understand. This study is motivated by the existence of problems in listening skills in grade V elementary school students. This research is a descriptive qualitative research conducted at SDN 3 Nagri Tengah Purwakarta Regency with a total of 5 subjects who aim to determine the ability to listen to stories, find out the factors that inhibit the ability to listen to stories, and find out the solutions that are carried out to improve the ability to listen to stories of grade V elementary school students. The instruments used in this study are tests to students and interviews with students, parents and teachers. The results of this study indicate that the ability to listen to stories of grade V elementary school students is different. Judging from the results of 5 students' research, 3 students were categorized as good, 1 student was categorized as sufficient, and 1 person was categorized as lacking. Factors that influence the ability to listen to stories are physiological factors, intellectual factors, environmental factors, and psychological factors. Efforts that can be made to improve students' ability to listen to stories are to get students used to listening every day with the guidance of teachers and parents, and assisted by making learning media.
