Abstract

Menentukan ide pokok pada sebuah paragraf merupakan kompetensi yang terdapat pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di kelas IV yang harus dicapai oleh siswa. Dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia khususnya pada materi membaca di sekolah dasar tidak menutup kemungkinan terdapat masalah-masalah yang terjadi. Berdasarkan observasi dan wawancara dengan guru kelas IV yang telah dilakukan oleh peneliti, ditemukan kesalahan-kesalahan siswa dalam menemukan ide pokok pada teks narasi. Maka dari itu peneliti memberikan solusi yaitu menggunakan model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Penelitian ini merupakan jenis Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dan menggunakan desain Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrument, lembar observasi guru, lembar observasi siswa, dan soal evaluasi siswa. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus, dimana terdapat peningkatan tiap siklusnya. Pada siklus I, persentase hasil observasi guru sebesar 85,7%, dan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 94,64%. Sedangkan hasil observasi siswa pada siklus I memperoleh persentase sebesar 77,51%, dan pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan sebesar 90,42%. Hasil tes individu siswa pada siklus I memperoleh persentase sebesar 63,60%, dan pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan dengan persentase sebesar 86,36%. Berdasarkan data dari hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dan kemampuan siswa kelas IV dalam menentukan ide pokok pada teks narasi. In the implementation of Indonesian learning, especially in reading materials in elementary schools, it does not rule out the possibility of problems that occur. Based on observations and interviews with grade IV teachers that have been conducted by researchers, it was found that students' errors in finding the main idea in the narrative text. Therefore, researchers provide a solution, namely using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research (PTK) and uses Kemmis and Taggart designs. This study used instruments, teacher observation sheets, student observation sheets, and student evaluation questions. In this study, two cycles were conducted, where there was an increase in each cycle. In cycle I, the percentage of teacher observation was 85.7%, and in cycle II it increased by 94.64%. While the results of student observations in cycle I obtained a percentage of 77.51%, and in cycle II there was an increase of 90.42%. The individual test results of students in cycle I obtained a percentage of 63.60%, and in cycle II there was an increase with a percentage of 86.36%. Based on data from the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model can increase student activity and the ability of grade IV students in determining the main idea in the narrative text.
