Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk; (1) mendeskripsikan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam membaca pemahaman bahasa Perancis mahasiswa tingkat A2 sebelum dan setelah penerapan media webtoon dengan strategi Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA); (2) mengukur tingkat efektivitas penerapan media webtoon dengan menggunakan strategi DRTA untuk pembelajaran membaca pemahaman bahasa Perancis tingkat A2; dan (3) menginformasikan tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap penerapan media webtoon dengan menggunakan strategi DRTA. Responden dalam penelitan ini sebanyak 32 orang mahasiswa semester IV Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis FPBS UPI Tahun Akademik 2022/2023. Metode yang digunakan adalah pra-eksperimental dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest-postest. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, diperoleh nilai rata-rata prates sebesar 58,063% dan nilai rata-rata pascastes sebesar 82,23%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan hasil belajar mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pengolahan data statistik dengan menggunakan taraf signifikansi 5% (0,05) dan derajat kebebasan d.f = 31, diperoleh nilai thitung sebesar 7,39 lebih besar dari ttabel sebesar 2,04. Dengan demikian, peneliti dapat menyimpulkan bahwa hipotesis kerja diterima. Kemudian, berdasarkan hasil analisis angket yang diberikan pada mahasiswa diketahui sebagaian besar (62,5%) mengalami kesulitan keterbatasan penguasaan kosakata yang dimiliki, sebesar 31,25% mengalami kesulitan untuk menemukan ide pokok, dan sebesar 6,25% tidak mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami bacaan berbahasa Perancis. Sebesar 93,75% responden menjawab bahwa webtoon memberikan kontribusi terhadap membaca pemahaman bahasa Perancis. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan media webtoon dengan menggunakan strategi DRTA dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam memahami bacaan berbahasa Perancis. The aim of this study is to; (1) describe students’ reading comprehension ability in French at A2 level before and after the use of webtoon with Directed Reading Thinking Activity strategy (DRTA); (2) measure the effectiveness of webtoon implementation using the DRTA strategy for learning French reading comprehension at A2 level, and; (3) inform students’ opinions to the implementation of webtoon using the DRTA strategy. The respondents were 32 students in the fourth semester of the French Department of FPBS UPI. The method used is pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. Based on the results data analysis, the average value of the pre-test is 58,083% and the post-test is 82,23%. It’s shows that there is an increase in student learning outcomes before and after the treatment. Based on the results of statistical calculations using a significance level of 5% and degrees of freedom d.f=31, it is found that the tcount value of 7,39 > ttable of 2,039. This indicates that the working hypothesis is accepted. In other words, the implementation of webtoon is effectively used in learning French reading comprehension A2 level. Based on the analysis of the questionnaire, 62.5% of them have difficulty in mastering the vocabulary, 31.25% students had difficulty finding the main idea, and the others 6.25% doesn’t had any difficulties. 93.75% of them responds that webtoons contribute to reading comprehension of French text. This proves that the application of webtoon media using the DRTA strategy can help students improving their reading comprehension in French level A2.
