Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan memperoleh gambaran tentang kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran PjBL dan pembelajaran langsung, serta menganalisis perbedaan pengaruh model PjBL dan pembelajaran langsung terhadap perolehan dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif dan kuasi-eksperimen. Penelitian deskriptif menganalisis tentang rata-rata, simpangan baku dan kemiringan dari distribusi untuk kedua kelompok yang diberi pembelajaran dengan model Project Based Learning dan model pembelajaran langsung. Penelitian kuantitatif yang berkaitan dengan penelitian kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain eksperimen one group pretest-postest design dan pretest-postest control grup design. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: (i) secara deskriptif rata-rata skor kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik yang belajar dengan PjBL sedikit lebih tinggi dari pada peserta didik yang belajar dengan pembelajaran langsung; (ii) pembelajaran dengan model PjBL berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap pemahaman matematis peserta didik; (iii) pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran langsung berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap pemahaman matematis peserta didik; (iv) tidak terdapat perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan model PjBL dan pembelajaran langsung terhadap perolehan kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik dan kedua model tersebut memberikan pengaruh yang rendah terhadap kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa; dan (v) terdapat perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan model PjBL dan pembelajaran langsung terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik. Dari rata-rata skor n-gain diperoleh bahwa penggunaan model PjBL lebih tinggi pengaruhnya terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik dari pada penggunaan model pembelajaran langsung. This study aims to analyze and obtain an overview of the mathematical understanding abilities of students who receive PjBL learning and direct intruction, as well as analyze the differences in the influence of PjBL and direct intruction models on the acquisition and improvement of students' mathematical understanding abilities. The method in this study is a quantitative method with a descriptive and quasi-experimental design. This descriptive study analyzes the mean, standard deviation and slope of the distribution for the two groups that were taught with the Project Based Learning model and the direct intruction model. Quantitative research related to quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest experimental design and pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects in this study were eighth grade students at a state junior high school in West Bandung regency. From this study it was concluded that: (i) descriptively the average score of students' mathematical understanding abilities who studied with PjBL was slightly higher than students who studied with direct learning; (ii) learning with the PjBL model has a significant effect on students' mathematical understanding; (iii) learning with a direct learning model has a significant effect on students' mathematical understanding; (iv) there is no difference in the effect of using the PjBL model and direct intruction on the acquisition of students' mathematical understanding abilities and the two models have a low influence on students' mathematical understanding abilities; and (v) there are differences in the effect of using the PjBL model and direct intruction on improving students' mathematical understanding abilities. From the average n-gain score, it was found that the use of the PjBL model had a higher effect on increasing students' mathematical understanding abilities than the use of the direct intruction model
