Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemberian apresiasi dalam mengembangkan sikap percaya diri anak usia dini, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan sikap percaya diri anak berkembang dengan baik melalui pemberian apresiasi yang dilakukan oleh orang tua di rumah. Sikap percaya diri tersebut tercermin pada ciri-ciri anak yang percaya diri yaitu yakin dengan kemampuan diri, mandiri, ekspresif, dan berani bertindak. Selain itu, apresiasi yang diberikan oleh orang tua dalam mengembangkan sikap percaya diri anak tercermin pada macam-macam apresiasi yang telah diberikan yaitu pujian, penghargaan dan hadiah dengan memperhatikan hal-hal dalam penerapannya. Adapun faktor pendukung dari pemberian apresiasi yakni keluarga, waktu luang orang tua, dan profesi orang tua. Selain itu terdapat pula faktor penghambat dari pemberian apresiasi yakni emosi orang tua, anggota keluarga lain, kurangnya waktu luang orang tua, dan emosi anak yang kurang stabil. ----- This study aims to find out how giving appreciation in developing early childhood self-confidence, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors. The method used in this study is using a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive research design. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. The collected data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model of data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results showed that the development of children's self-confidence developed well through giving appreciation to parents at home. This confident attitude is reflected in the characteristics of confident children, namely confident in their abilities, independent, expressive, and dare to act. In addition, the appreciation given by parents in developing children's self-confidence is reflected in the kinds of appreciation that have been given, namely praise, awards and gifts by paying attention to things in their application. The supporting factors of giving appreciation are family, parents' free time, and parents' profession. In addition, there are also inhibiting factors from giving appreciation, namely the emotions of parents, other family members, lack of parental free time, and unstable children's emotions.
