Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IV di salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Ngamprah Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Hal tersebut dikarenakan oleh kurangnya partisipasi aktif siswa selama pembelajaran berlangsung. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model student facilitator and explaining dan peningkatan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas IV. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang menggunakan model dari Kemmis & Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari beberapa tahapan yaitu, perencanaan, pelaksanaan/tindakan, observasi/pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara dan juga tes. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah 30 orang siswa kelas IV di salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Ngamprah Kabupaten Bandung Barat yang terdiri dari 9 orang siswa laki-laki dan 21 orang siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus. Data hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada siklus I ketuntasan klasikal siswa mencapai 57% dan memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 76,53. Pada siklus II, ketuntasan klasikal siswa mengalami peningkatan menjadi 97% dan nilai rata-ratanya pun mengalami peningkatan sebesar 21,5% yaitu menjadi 92,2. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran student facilitator and explaining dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS). This research was motivated by the low social studies learning outcomes of fourth grade students in an elementary school in Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency. This is due to the lack of active participation of students during learning takes place. The purpose of this research is to describe the process of implementing learning by using the student facilitator and explaining model and improving social studies learning outcomes for fourth grade students. The research method used is Classroom Action Research using the model from Kemmis & Mc. Taggart which consists of several stages, namely, planning, implementation/action, observation/observation and reflection. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews and tests. The subjects of this study were 30 fourth grade students at an elementary school in Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency, consisting of 9 male students and 21 female students. This research was conducted in two cycles. The data from this study indicate that in the first cycle, students' classical completeness reached 57% and obtained an average score of 76.53. In cycle II, students' classical completeness increased to 97% and their average score also increased by 21.5%, namely to 92.2. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the student facilitator and explaining learning model can improve student learning outcomes in Social Sciences (IPS) subjects.
