Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya pemahaman siswa terkait konsep perkalian di kelas IV. Pembelajaran matematika di kelas tidak pernah menggunakan media pembelajaran dan cenderung hanya menggunakan metode ceramah saja yang menimbulkan sulitnya siswa menguasai konsep karena tidak dibelajarkan dengan hal yang konkret dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan permasalahan tersebut dengan mengembangkan sebuah media buletin matematika berbasis teori dienes untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep perkalian kelas IV sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian Design & Development model PPE (Planning, Production and Evaluation) yang dikembangkan oleh Richey dan Klein. Temuan pada penelitian ini adalah: 1) Media saat ini dalam pembelajaran tidak dijadikan esensi dalam pembelajaran matematika di salah satu SD di Kabupaten Bandung Barat. 2) Desain awal pengembangan media menghasilkan AKD, AMP, Blueprint dan gambaran isi media. 3) Hasil penilaian validasi para ahli menyatakan media mendapatkan persentase 92% penilaian ahli materi, 98% ahli media, 75% ahli bahasa, dan 97% praktisi pendidikan (guru). 4) Berdasarkan hasil pretest dan postest menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep perkalian setelah penggunaan media buletin matematik dengan rata-rata 58 menjadi 90 dengan penilaian sangat baik. This research is motivated by a lack of understanding of students regarding the concept of multiplication in grade IV. Learning mathematics in class never uses learning media and tends to only use the lecture method which makes it difficult for students to master concepts because they are not taught with concrete things in learning. This study aims to descibe this problem by developing a mathematics bulletin media based on dienes theory to increase the understanding of the concept of multiplication for grade IV elementary schools. The research method used is the Design & Development model PPE (Planning, Production and Evaluation) research method developed by Richey and Klein. The findings in this study are: 1) The current media in learning is not used as an essence in learning mathematics at one of the elementary schools in West Bandung Regency. 2) The initial design for media development produces AKD, AMP, blueprint and an overview of media content. 3) The results of the expert validation assessment stated that the media received a percentage of 92% from material experts, 98% from media experts, 75% from linguists, and 97% from educational practitioners (teachers). 4) Based on the results of the pretest and posttest, it shows an increase in the ability to understand the concept of multiplication after using the math bulletin media with an average of 58 to 90 with a very good rating.
