Abstract

Indonesia sedang memasuki era revolusi 4.0 dan society 5.0 yang membawa manusia untuk memaksimalkan pemanfaatan teknologi. Salah satu pemanfaatan teknologi adalah penggunaan gawai, terutama di kalangan remaja yang ternyata belum digunakan secara optimal dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Strategi pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan gawai adalah pembelajaran berbasis personal digital inquiry (PDI). Pembelajaran ini berpotensi mengajarkan keterampilan abad ke-21 yang salah satunya adalah keterampilan penyelesaian masalah dan komunikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran PDI terhadap keterampilan penyelesaian masalah dan komunikasi siswa pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control-group design. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap kelas X pada salah satu SMA di Kota Bandung yang masing-masing terdiri dari 30 orang siswa dengan menggunakan hasil pre-test dan post-test keterampilan penyelesaian masalah dan komunikasi serta angket tanggapan. Hasil penelitian menggunakan uji beda rata-rata menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada skor pre-test keterampilan penyelesaian masalah dan komunikasi siswa. Melalui uji Mann-Whitney U, hasil post-test menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan antara kedua kelas dengan nilai Sig. 0,000 untuk penyelesaian masalah dan nilai Sig. 0,023 untuk komunikasi. Selain itu, tanggapan siswa terhadap pembelajaran berbasis PDI juga menunjukkan respon yang positif. One of the uses of technology is the use of gadgets, especially among teenagers who have not used it optimally in learning activities. A learning strategy that can be applied to optimize the use of gadgets is personal digital inquiry (PDI) based learning. This learning has the potential to teach 21st century skills, one of which is problem solving and communication skills. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the application of PDI learning on students' problem solving and communication skills on biodiversity material. The method used was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control-group design. The research was conducted on class X at one of the high schools in Bandung city, which consisted of 30 students and using the results of the pre-test and post-test of problem solving and communication skills as well as a response questionnaire. The results of the study using the mean difference test showed that there was no significant difference in the pre-test scores of problem solving and communication skills. Through the Mann-Whitney U test, the post-test results showed a significant difference between the two classes with a Sig. 0.000 for problem solving and a Sig. 0.023 for communication. In addition, students' responses to PDI-based learning also showed a positive response.
