Abstract

Skripsi penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan batik tulis bergaya
kontemporer kedalam bentuk lembaran kain. Selain itu tujuan skripsi penciptaan
ini menghasilkan motif baru yang merepresentasikan penyu hijau di habitat Pantai
Ujung Genteng. Pada skripsi penciptaan tersebut, menggunakan metode practiced
based research dengan pendekatan estetika. Sumber gagasan berasal dari kajian
pustaka, yang bersumber dari buku dan jurnal serta sumber interney yang
memiliki kredibilitas yang baik dan tentunya yang berkaitan dengan objek
penciptaan. Proses yang dilakukan adalah yaitu 1). Tahapan Eksplorasi yang
merupakan kajian sumber gagasan, konsep serta dasar penciptaan, kemudian 2)
Perancangan yang merupakan rencana desain suatu karyanya, 3). Lalu perwujudan
yang merupakan hasil pembuatan karya. Batik sedang naik daun, namun justru di
sekitar kita masih ditemukan masyarakat yang masih keliru dengan batik, Masih
banyak ditemukan masyarakat yang menggangap segala bentuk objek yang
memiliki visual motif disebut batik. Tidak hanya itu, kebudayaan luar terus
membombardir negara kita yang sangat dikhawatrkan akan mengurangi kecintaan
terhadap budaya sendiri. Bahkan lebih fatalnya bisa menghilangkan identitas
budaya negara sendiri. Atas dasar itu saya ingin berkontribusi dalam rangka
mengembangkan desain batik sukabumi yang lebih modern dan kekinian
sekaligus memperkuat identitas masyarakat sukabumi. Dampak dari penulisan ini
masyarakat Indonesia menjadi tahu apa arti dari batik itu sendiri dan sadar akan
identitas kebudayaannya dan ikut aktif dalam melestarikan batik.

This creation thesis aims to create contemporary style written batik intothe form of a sheet of cloth. In addition, the purpose of this thesis creationis toproduce a new motif that represents the green turtle in the Ujung Genteng Beachhabitat. In the creation of the thesis, using a practice based research methodwithan aesthetic approach. The source of ideas comes from literature review, whichcomes from books and journals as well as internet sources that have goodcredibility and of course those related to the object of creation. The processcarried out is namely 1). The Exploration Stage which is the study of the sourceof ideas, concepts and the basis for creation, then 2) Design which is the designplanof a work, 3). Then the embodiment which is the result of making works. Batikison the rise, but precisely around us there are still people who are still confusedwith batik. There are still many people who consider all forms of objects that havevisual motifs to be called batik. Not only that, foreign culture continues tobombard our country which is very feared will reduce the love for our own culture. Even more fatal can eliminate the cultural identity of the country itself. Onthat basis, I want to contribute in order to develop a more modern and up-to-dateSukabumi batik design while at the same time strengthening the identity of theSukabumi people. The impact of this writing is that Indonesian people knowwhat batik means and are aware of their cultural identity and are actively involvedinpreserving batik.
