Abstract

Salah satu fenomena yang cukup menarik dalam penggunaan media komunikasi dan informasi ialah munculnya istilah buzzer. Istilah buzzer mulai familiar sejak media sosial banyak digunakan. Keberadaan buzzer yang semula digunanakan dalam penjualan suatu produk, kini buzzer pun merambah ke dunia politik yang dikenal dengan “BuzzeRp”. Buzzer politik mencoba mempengaruhi opini publik dengan menyebarkan berita hatespeech dan berita hoax terhadap lawan politik yang berakibat terjadinya perpecahan di tengah masyarakat. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini diharapkan dapat membantu generasi muda dalam memberikan pengetahuan mengenai fenomena buzzer politik di media sosial. Selain itu, memberikan solusi kepada masyarakat terkait keresahan yang ditimbulkan oleh para buzzer melalui hatespeech dan berita hoax. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif yang dilakukan kepada generasi muda di Kota Bandung. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara buzzer politik di media sosial twitter dengan pembentukan opini publik generasi muda Kota Bandung, buzzer politik tersebut mampu memberikan pengaruh terhadap pembentukan opini serta faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi opini publik di antaranya komunikator, pesan, media dan komunikan. One interesting phenomenon in the use of communication and Information media is the emergence of the term buzzer. The term buzzer has become familiar since social media was widely used. The existence of a buzzer that was originally used in the sale of a product, now buzzer also penetrated into the world of politics known as “BuzzeRp”. Political buzzers try to influence public opinion by spreading hatespeech news and hoax news against political opponents resulting in divisions in society. Therefore, this study is expected to help the younger generation in providing knowledge about the phenomenon of political buzzer on social media. In addition, providing solutions to the public related to the unrest caused by the buzzer through hatespeech and hoax news. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods conducted to the younger generation in the city of Bandung. The results of this study showed a relationship between the political buzzer on social media twitter with the formation of public opinion of the young generation of Bandung, the political buzzer is able to influence the formation of opinions and factors that influence public opinion among communicators, messages, media and communicants.
