Abstract
Kepala sekolah sebagai pengelola pendidikan mempunyai tugas salah satunya meningkatkan kinerja pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan. Di TK Al-Muhajirin salah satu upaya peningkatan kompetensi profesional guru yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah yaitu dengan mengadakan kegiatan supervisi, adapun langkah-langkah supervisi meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan tindak lanjut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran kompetensi professional guru, langkah-langkah kegiatan supervisi, serta hambatan dan kendala dalam upaya meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru di TK Al-Muhajirin Cilegon. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Kepala sekolah dan dua guru TK Al-Muhajirin Cilegon menjadi subjek penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh akan dirangkum dianalisis menggunakan model instraktif yaitu reduksi data, penyajian dan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa, (1) kompetensi profesional guru di TK Al-Muhajirin dapat dikatakan cukup baik; (2) salah satu upaya yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional guru di TK Al-Muhajirin yaitu dengan kegiatan supervisi yang dalam pelaksanaannya terdapat langkah-langkah meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, serta evaluasi dan tindak lanjut supervisi; (3) dalam upaya meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru di TK Al-Muhajirin terdapat hambatan dan kendala yang dialami oleh kepala sekolah dan guru. Hasil dari penelitian ini bisa dijadikan rekomendasikan bagi sekolah dalam melaksanakan supervisi terhadap guru serta sebagai referensi penelitian selanjutnya. At Al-Muhajirin Kindergarten, one of the efforts to increase teacher professional competence carried out by the principal is to conduct supervision activities, while the supervision steps include planning, implementation, evaluation and follow-up.The purpose of this study was to describe the professional competence of teachers, the steps of supervision activities, as well as obstacles and obstacles in an effort to improve teacher competence at Al-Muhajirin Kindergarten, Cilegon. A qualitative approach with descriptive method is used in this study. The principal and two teachers of the Al-Muhajirin Kindergarten in Cilegon were the subjects of the study. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The data obtained will be summarized and analyzed using an intractive model, namely data reduction, presentation and conclusion. Based on the research results, it is known that, (1) the professional competence of teachers in Al-Muhajirin Kindergarten can be said to be quite good; (2) one of the efforts made by the principal in improving the professional competence of teachers in Al-Muhajirin Kindergarten is with supervision activities in which there are steps in its implementation including planning, implementation, as well as evaluation and follow-up supervision; (3) in an effort to improve the professional competence of teachers in Al-Muhajirin Kindergarten, there are obstacles and obstacles experienced by principals and teachers. The results of this study can be used as recommendations for schools in carrying out supervision of teachers and as a reference for further research.
