Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki pengaruh pendekatan diferensiasi dalam Problem Based Learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan mixed methods dengan exploratory sequential design. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu 70 peserta didik kelas X di salah satu SMA Kota Cimahi Bandung yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel terdiri dari 35 peserta didik di kelas eksperimen dan 35 peserta didik di kelas kontrol. Pada kelas eksperimen peserta didik menggunakan pendekatan diferensiasi dalam model Problem Based Learning (PBL) sedangkan pada kelas kontrol menggunakan model PBL tanpa pendekatan diferensiasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata N-Gain keterampilan berpikir kritis pada kelas eksperimen yaitu sebesar 0,77 dengan kategori tinggi sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,39 dengan kategori sedang. Rata-rata N-Gain hasil belajar kognitif pada kelas eksperimen yaitu sebesar 0,81 dengan kategori tinggi sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,42 dengan kategori sedang. Hasil keduanya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada materi momentum dan impuls pada kelas eksperimen. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran diferensiasi dalam model PBL terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik pada materi momentum dan impuls. This study aims to investigate the effect of the differentiation approach in Problem Based Learning on critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students. This research uses mixed methods with exploratory sequential design. The sample of this research is 70 students of class X in one of the SMA Kota Cimahi Bandung which were selected using purposive sampling technique. The sample consisted of 35 students in the experimental class and 35 students in the control class. In the experimental class, students used a differentiation approach in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model, while in the control class, they used a PBL model without a differentiation approach. The results showed that the average N-Gain value of critical thinking skills in the experimental class was 0.77 in the high category while in the control class it was 0.39 in the medium category. The average N-Gain of cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class is 0.81 in the high category while in the control class it is 0.42 in the medium category. The results of both show an increase in critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students on momentum and impulse material in the experimental class. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the differentiation learning approach in the PBL model on critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students on momentum and impulse materials.
