Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran argument-based science inquiry (ABSI) terhadap penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental atau eksperimen semu. Tempat penilitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SMP di Kota Sukabumi. Subjek penelitan ini terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas VII SMP, Satu kelas digunakan sebagai kelas eksperimen dan satu kelas lagi sebagai kelas kontrol. Perlakuan diberikan kepada sampel dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran argument-based science inquiry (ABSI). Instrument penelitian ini menggunakan soal pilihan ganda, dan essai. Teknik tes yang digunakan adalah pretest dan posttest, nilai pretest dan posttest ini diolah untuk mendapatkan nilai N-Gain. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan penguasaan konsep dan argumentasi ilmiah siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran argument-based science inquiry (ABSI) yang dibuktikan dengan meningkatnya nilai rata-rata N-gain penguasaan konsep sebesar 0,65 dan rata-rata N-Gain kemampuan argumentasi sebesar 0,45. Hasil uji hipotesis terhadap nilai pretest-posttest, pada α=0,05 diperoleh nilai sig. sebesar 0,000 maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran argument based science inquiry dapat mempengaruhi penguasaan konsep dan argumentasi siswa pada level 2. Kata Kunci : Argument-based science inquiry, penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan argumentasi ilmiah siswa.   ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the argument-based science inquiry (ABSI) learning model on students' mastery of concepts and scientific argumentation skills. The research method used is quasi-experimental or quasi-experimental. The research site was carried out in one of the junior high schools in Sukabumi City. The subjects of this research consisted of two classes, namely class VII SMP, one class was used as the experimental class and the other class as the control class. The treatment was given to the sample by applying the argument-based science inquiry (ABSI) learning model. This research instrument uses multiple choice questions and essays. The test technique used is pretest and posttest, the pretest and posttest values are processed to get the N-Gain value. The results of this study indicate an increase in students' mastery of scientific concepts and arguments using the argument-based science inquiry (ABSI) learning model as evidenced by the increase in the average mastery of concepts N-gain score of 0,65 and average students' scientific argumentation skills N-gain score of 0,45. The results of the hypothesis test on the pretest-posttest value, at = 0.05, the sig value was obtained. of 0.000 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. These results prove that the learning model using the argument-based science inquiry learning model can affect students' mastery of concepts and arguments at level 2.
