Abstract
Penelitian ini berfokus pada implementasi kurikulum sebagai actual curriculum yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis secara evaluatif terhadap: 1) Perencanaan model pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam mata kuliah Reading yang dituangkan instructional design, 2) proses implementasi model pembelajaran kolaboratif pada Mata Kuliah Reading, 3) evaluasi model pembelajaran kolaboratif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Mix Method bersifat deskriptif dan untuk evaluasi digunakan pendekatan Model CIPP. Objek Penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi D3 Bahasa Inggris, Politeknik Negeri Bandung (POLBAN). Penelitian ini berhasil menemukan: 1) penyusunan instructional design yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam mata kuliah Reading sudah sesuai dengan RPS yang mengacu pada kurikulum standar nasional. Capaian pembelajaran dapat dicapai sesuai dengan kompentensi untuk level D3 dalam KKNI. 2) Implementasi model pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam mata kuliah Readig ditinjau dari proses pembelajaran di kelas. Observasi dan analisa hasil/nilai tes menunjukkan bahwa model ini berhasil meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dari tingkat komprehensif (LOTS) ke tingkat analisis (HOTS). 3) Evaluasi terhadap program model pembelajaran kolaboratif dalam, mata kuliah Reading menunjukkan hasil yang positif, capaian pembelajaran telah sesuai dengan “kemampuan minimal” dalam KKNI yang harus dimiliki oleh mahasiswa program studi tersebut. Dengan demikian, program pengajaran Reading dengan model pembelajaran kolaboratif direkomendasikan untuk dapat digunakan dan dilanjutkan. This study focuses on the implementation of an actual curriculum and aims to describe , analyze and evaluate the following aspects: 1) Instructional design which is the planning of collaborative learning in the teaching of Reading,2) The process of implementing Collaborative Learning in the teaching of Reading, 3) The evaluation of implementing Collaborative Learning in the teaching of Reading. The research uses mix method , specially explanatory sequential, and a CIPP Model approach to evaluate. The research object is the students of D3 English Study Program, State Polytechnic of Bandung (Politeknik Negeri BandungPOLBAN). This research reveals that: 1) The making of instructional design which integrates collaborative learning model in the teaching of Reading has been in line with the RPS refers to the national standard curriculum. Learning outcomes is achieved in accordance with D3 level competence in KKNI. 2) The Implementation of collaborative learning model in the teaching of Reading is observed in the teaching learning process in the class. The observation and the analysis of tests results indicates that collaborative learning model succeed in enhancing student’s critical thinking ability in reading which is from comprehension (LOTS) to analysis (HOTS). 3) The evaluation towards this learning program shows positive results since the learning outcome has been in line with competence that should be achieved by the students of this study program. Therefore, the implementation of collaborative learning model in the teaching of Reading is recommended to be applied and continued in the teaching of Reading in higher education level. The critical thinking can be taught separately or infused to the teaching of reading even to the teaching of writing and speaking. However, students’ ability in expressing argument should also be put a strong emphasis in the teaching of English, especially in higher education level.
