Abstract
Berdasasarkan pengalaman dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran di SMK Negeri 12 Bandung, pembelajaran secara umum masih menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional yang mengakibatkan peserta didik kurang berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Sehinga perlu digunakan metode pembelajaran yang lebih melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian yang dilakukan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model discovery learning dengan media Youtube serta mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman Peserta didik pada materi Flight Control dalam Mata Pelajaran Basic Aircraft Technology and Knowledge (BATK) . Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Deskriptif Kuantitatif pada kelas X TPU 3 di SMK Negeri 12 Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar observasi penilaian afektif dan penilaian kognitif (pre-test, evaluasi I, evaluasi II dan post-test) dan Kuisioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keefektifan penerapan model pembelajaran dan peningkatan pemahaman peserta didik, yang dapat dilihat dari perolehan nilai peserta didik pada pre-test, evaluasi I dan II, serta post-test. Model pembelajaran discovery learning dengan menggunakan media Youtube, perlu digunakan oleh guru dalam menigkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap mata pelajaran BATK. Based on experience in the implementation of learning at SMK Negeri 12 Bandung, learning in general still uses conventional learning models which result in students not actively participating in learning activities. So it is necessary to use learning methods that more actively involve students. This research aims to find out the application of discovery learning models with Youtube media and find out the increase in understanding of students in Flight Control material in Basic Aircraft Technology and Knowledge (BATK) Subjects. The research methods used is Descriptive Quantitative in class X TPU 3 at VHS 12 Bandung. The instruments used were learning implementation observation sheets, observation sheets for affective assessment and cognitive assessment (pre-test, evaluation I, evaluation II and post-test) and questionnaire. The results showed the effectiveness of the application of the learning model and the increase in students' understanding, which can be seen from the acquisition of student scores in the pre-test, evaluation I and II, and post-test. Discovery learning model using Youtube media, needs to be used by teachers in increasing students' understanding of BATK subjects.
