Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk representasi yang digunakan dan kesulitan yang dihadapi siswa berkebutuhan khusus kelas IX dalam menyelesaikan soal problem solving materi pecahan senilai. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif, yang menyajikan hasil penelitian dalam bentuk narasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan wawancara. Tahap penelitian melalui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penyajian data. Langkah yang dilakukan antara lain penyusunan instrumen penelitian, pelaksanaan penelitian, serta analisis data. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SLB Prima Bhakti Mulia. Pelaksanaan tes dan wawancara dilakukan kepada 6 orang siswa tunarungu dan tunawicara kelas IX. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa representasi yang digunakan siswa berkebutuhan khusus dalam menyelesaikan soal problem solving umumnya berbentuk representasi visual, dimana siswa cenderung menggambarkan kata kunci yang ditemukan dari soal. Selain itu ditemukan juga siswa yang menggunakan representasi berupa ekspresi matematika. Kesulitan untuk menyelesaikan masalah umumnya terjadi dalam tahap merencanakan penyelesaian. Siswa berkebutuhan khusus mengalami kesulitan dalam menentukan langkah yang tepat untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang telah dipahami. This study aims to describe the form of representation used and the difficulties faced by students with special needs in grade IX in problem solving for fractions of value. The research used is descriptive research, which presents the results of the research in narrative form. Data collection is done by tests and interviews. Research stage through planning, implementing and presenting data. Steps taken include the preparation of research instruments, conducting research, and data analysis. This research was conducted at SLB Prima Bhakti Mulia. Tests and interviews were conducted on 6 deaf and speech impaired students in class IX. The results showed that the representation used by students with special needs in problem solving is generally in the form of visual representation, where students tend to describe the keywords found from the problem. In addition, there were also students who used representations in the form of mathematical expressions. Difficulties in problem solving generally occur in the planning phase of completion. Students with special needs have difficulty in determining the right steps to solve problems that have been understood.
