Abstract

Verba bahasa Jerman memiliki fitur yang berbeda dengan bahasa Indonesia pada penerapannya dalam kalimat. Hal ini dikarenakan verba bahasa Jerman mengalami proses konjugasi, yaitu perubahan bentuk verba berdasarkan subjek kalimat. Berdasarkan pengamatan singkat pada saat praktik mengajar terlihat bahwa siswa masih memiliki kendala dalam mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman. Untuk mengatasi persoalan tersebut dilakukan sebuah penelitian berupa penerapan teknik Snowball Throwing dalam pembelajaran konjugasi verba bahasa Jerman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui: 1) Kemampuan siswa dalam mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman sebelum penerapan Teknik Snowball Throwing; 2) Kemampuan siswa dalam mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman setelah penerapan Teknik Snowball Throwing; dan 3) Efektivitas Teknik Snowball Throwing dalam pembelajaran konjugasi verba bahasa Jerman. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian satu kelompok pre-test dan post-test. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN 15 Bandung dan sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X MIPA 6 tahun ajaran 2017/2018 sebanyak 24 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes tertulis dan RPP (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui: 1) Kemampuan siswa mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman sebelum penerapan Teknik Snowball Throwing termasuk ke dalam kategori “kurang”; 2) Kemampuan siswa mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman setelah penerapan Teknik Snowball Throwing termasuk dalam kategori “baik”; dan 3) Teknik Snowball Throwing efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik Snowball Throwing berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman. Oleh karena itu, teknik Snowball Throwing dapat menjadi salah satu teknik pembelajaran alternatif yang dapat digunakan pengajar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa mengkonjugasikan verba bahasa Jerman. ;--- Verbs in German have different features from Indonesian in their application in sentences. This is because the German verb undergoes a conjugation process, which is a change in the shape of the verb based on the subject of the sentence. Based on brief observations while doing teaching practice, it was seen that students still had constraints and difficulties in conjugating German verbs. To overcome this problem a study was carried out in the form of the application of Snowball Throwing techniques in learning conjugation of German verbs. The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The ability of students to conjugate German verbs before applying Snowball Throwing Technique; 2) Students' ability to conjugate German verbs after applying Snowball Throwing Technique; and 3) Effectiveness of Snowball Throwing Technique in learning conjugation of German verbs. In this study a quasi-experimental method was used with the design of a pre-test and post-test group. The population in this study were all students of class X SMAN 15 Bandung and the sample of this study was class X MIPA 6 academic year 2017/2018 as many as 24 people. The instrument used in this study is a written test and learning plan. Based on the results of the study can be known that: 1) The ability of students to conjugate German verbs before the application of Snowball Throwing Technique belongs to the category "less"; 2) The ability of students to conjugate German verbs after applying the Snowball Throwing Technique is included in the "good" category; and 3) Snowball Throwing techniques are effective in improving the ability to conjugate German verbs. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the Snowball Throwing technique has a positive impact on improving students' ability to conjugate German verbs. Therefore, Snowball Throwing technique can be an alternative learning technique that can be used by teachers to improve students' ability to conjugate German verbs.
