    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya optimalisasi keterampilan Orientasi dan Mobilitas dalam mengatasi dampak ketidakberfungsian organ penglihatan pada tunanetra sehingga membuatnya mampu mengenali lingkungan, bergerak dari satu tempat ke tempat lain, dan melakukan aktivitas sehari-hari, tanpa harus memiliki ketergantungan yang besar pada orang lain. Sehubungan dengan itu, diperlukan layanan intervensi sejak dini dengan proses pelaksanaannya melibatkan keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan program intervensi dini bersumberdaya keluarga dalam rangka mengoptimalkan keterampilan Orientasi dan Mobilitas anak tunanetra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan empat tahapan penelitian. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah Anak Tunanetra berusia 5 tahun dan keluarga Anak tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Proses analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan mereduksi data, menyajikan data dan menarik kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian menyatakan bahwa terdapat perubahan pemahaman pada keluarga terkait pemberian intervensi dini yang tepat bagi anak untuk mengoptimalkan keterampilan Orientasi dan Mobilitas serta adanya perubahan keterampilan Orientasi dan Mobilitas pada anak setelah dilakukan intervensi dini oleh keluarga. -----------
    This study was motivated from a significance of optimizing orientation and mobility skills in the attempt to overcome the impacts of visual malfunction over people with visual impairment which enable them to apprehend their surrounding, to mobile from part to part, to do regular basis activities, without being dependent to others. Relevant to the aforementioned statement, it is considerably needed an early intervention service with active involvement of the family. The present study was aimed at developing an early intervening program based in the family in order to optimize the orientation and mobility skills of children with visual impairment. This study used descriptive qualitative approach by employing four systematical stages. The samples of the study were five children with visual impairments and supported by the family as well. Three data collection techniques were used covering interview, observations and document analysis. The data analysis of the study was made by reducing the data, presenting, and drawing the conclusion. The study finding revealed that there was significant improvement toward the family in terms of an effective early intervention initiated by the family in order to optimize the skills of orientation and mobility as well as the one with the children with visual impairment after the program was conducted by the family.
