Abstract

Pemahaman konsep dalam pembelajaran sains merupakan hal yang sangat penting guna menghindari miskonsepsi pada siswa dan merupakan salah satu syarat dalam mencapai keberhasilan belajar sains. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa dan penurunan kuantitas miskonsepsi dengan mengunakan strategi pembelajaran PDEODE di jenjang sekolah dasar tepatnya di salah satu Madrasah Ibtidaiyah di kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan control group pretest-postest design. Proses pembelajaran terjadi di kelas kontrol dengan pembelajaran tradisional dan di kelas eksperimen dengan strategi PDEODE. Pembelajaran berlangsung selama 4 kali pertemuan masing-masing kelas dan dalam setiap kegiatannya dilakukan juga observasi mengenai keterlaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran seperti tertera dalam langkah-langkah di RPP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep serta penurunan kuantitas siswa miskonsepsi setelah pembelajaran dilaksanakan. Hasil uji t menunjukkan bahwa antara ttabel yang telah ditentukan dengan hasil penghitungan thitung yang ditemukan menunjukkan bahwa thitung<ttabel atau Ho ditolak yang artinya terdapat perbedaan yang siginifikan dalam peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan penurunan kuantitas siswa yang miskonsepsi antara siswa di kelas yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran PDEODE dan siswa di kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran tradisional. Selanjutnya tanggapan siswa terhadap penggunaan strategi PDEODE adalah positif. Siswa merasa lebih terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran dan dianggap tidak membuat jenuh sehingga pembelajaran yang diberikan mampu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan merekontruksi konsepsinya sehingga sesuai dengan konsep ilmiah sesungguhnya.;--- Concept understanding in science learning is one of the crucial things in avoiding the existence of misconception at students and is one of the requirements to achieve the success of learning science. The gits of the research is to figure out how deep the ability of the students to understand the concept and the quantity decrease of students’ misconception by using PDEODE learning strategic in one of Islamic elementary schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) in Bandung. The research employs quasi-experimental with controlled group pre-test and post-test design. The learning process occured in the controlled class with conventional learning and meanwhile in the experimental class with the PDEODE strategy. The learning process happened four times in each class and in every single activity was also observed in terms of the implementation as shown in the lesson plan. The result of the research shows that there is an improvement in understanding the concept and also quantity degradation in students’ misconception after the learning process done. The result of t-test shows that tobtain < ttable, which means H0 is is rejected. Furthermore, the students’ response toward the implementation of PDEODE strategy are totally positive. The students feel more involved during the learning process and it is not boring. Thus, the material given can increase the concept understanding and construct the concept so then it matches with the real scientific concept.
