Abstract

Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan di beberapa SLB di kota Jakarta terdapat temuan bahwa lulusan SMALB tunarungu (SMALB-B) dari beberapa sekolah di Jakarta tidak dapat langsung bekerja, baik bekerja dengan membuka lapangan kerja sendiri maupun bekerja pada perusahaan-perusahaan tertentu. Hal ini dapat terjadi disebabkan karena kegiatan pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional yang dilakukan sekolah masih belum mampu membekali peserta didik memasuki dunia kerja, baik dalam bidang perencanaan pembelajaran maupun tenaga pengajar bidang keterampilan bidang vokasional. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode (Research and Development ) atau R & D yang dilakukan dengan tiga tahap untuk mendapatkan data dalam kondisi yang natural melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Tahap pertama merupakan tahap orientasi, dimana peneliti melakukan observasi ke beberapa SLB untuk mengetahui kedalaman dan keluasan program keterampilan vokasional serta upaya-upaya sekolah dalam menyiapkan peserta didik memasuki dunia kerja. Tahap kedua berupa eksplorasi dimana temuan-temuan positif yang lebih visibel, praktis, dan realistis dalam menyiapkan peserta didik SMALB memasuki dunia kerja akan diadopsi sebagai rumusan pengembangan program vokasional. Tahap ketiga berupa focus group discussion (FGD) tentang pengembangan program vokasional dihadapan stake holders SLB Negeri 7 Jakarta sebagai subjek penelitian yang akan mengimplementasikan pengembangan program vokasional. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah pengembangan program berupa mekanisme dan strategi pembelajaran keterampilan vokasional sebagai inovasi dalam meningkatkan dan menjadi bekal peserta didik sebagai upaya sekolah menyiapkan lulusan SMALB-B memasuki dunia kerja. ;---Based on preliminary studies in several special schools in Jakarta, there was a finding that the graduates of SMALB for hearing impairment (SMALB_B) from several schools in Jakarta were not be able to work directly, both in working by opening their own job vacancy and in working to certain companies. It can occur because the learning activities of vocational skills ability conducted in the school has not been able to prepare students in entering the world of work yet, both in the planning the lesson and in the existence of teaching staff of vocational skills. This study was approach in qualitative by using research and development ( R & D ) methods conducted in three stages to obtain the data on natural conditions through interviews, observation, and documentation. The first stage is the orientation in which the researcher conducted observation to the several special schools to learn the depth and breadth of vocational skills program and the efforts of the schools in preparing their students in entering the world of work. The second stage is the exploration in which the more visible, practical, and realistic of positive findings in preparing the students of SMALB entering the world of work will be adopted as the formulation of the development of vocational program. The third stage is the focus group discussion (FGD) concerning the development of vocational program in front of stakeholders of SLB Negeri 7 Jakarta as the study subject that would implement the development of vocational program. This study generates a program development in the form of the learning mechanism and strategy of vocational skills that inovation to improve and become the students’ provision as the efforts of the schools in preparing the graduates of SMALB-B in entering the world of work.
