Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul ”Analisis Komposisi Musik Gamelan ”Noname and Nothing” Karya Iwan Gunawan”. Judul tersebut diambil atas dasar ketertarikan peneliti terhadap inovasi yang dilakukan Iwan Gunawan dalam menggarap komposisi musik gamelan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsep garap campuran laras pelog dan laras salendro, serta bentuk (form) dari komposisi musik gamelan ”Noname and Nothing”. Untuk mengungkap hal tersebut, peneliti menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik yang memberikan gambaran secara sistematis dan akurat mengenai faktor-faktor dan sifat-sifat tertentu yang terdapat dalam objek penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pada pembahasan, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa konsep garap campuran laras pelog dan laras salendro pada komposisi musik gamelan “Noname and Nohting” menghasilkan sebuah sistem sepuluh nada. Sistem sepuluh nada tersebut diolah dengan cara menggunakan nada-nada yang bersifat vertikal dan horizontal serta membangun sebuah motif berdasarkan tinggi rendah bunyi, durasi bunyi dan warna suara. Selain itu juga, menciptakan bunyi-bunyi yang bersifat perkusif dan bersifat interlocking dari instrumen yang digunakan dan menonjolkan nada-nada yang memiliki aspek mikro intervalis. Bentuk (form) dari komposisi musik gamelan ”Noname and Nothing” memiliki tiga bagian besar dan setiap bagian besar memiliki dua bagian kecil. Setiap bagian tersebut, memiliki struktur yang berbeda. Meski demikian, bagian-bagian tersebut saling terhubung dengan adanya beberapa motif dan figur yang diulang pada beberapa bagian komposisi tersebut. This thesis entitled " Analysis of Composition Music Gamelan " Noname and Nothing " Work by Iwan Gunawan". The title is taken on the basis of interest a researchers to innovation conducted Iwan Gunawan in creating the composition music gamelan. This study aims to determine the concept of working on a mix laras (scale) pelog and salendro, as well as the form of composition music gamelan "Noname and Nothing". To uncover that, the researchers used a descriptive analytic method that provides a systematic and accurate description of the factors and certain properties contained in the object of research. Based on the discussion of the results of the analysis, the researchers concluded that the concept of working on a mix laras (scale) pelog and salendro on composition music gamelan "Noname and Nothing" resulted in a ten-tone scale system. The ten-tone scale system processed by using tones that are vertically and horizontally as well as build a motif based on high and low sounds, duration of sound and timbre. In addition, creating sounds that are percussive and interlocking from the instrument used and highlight tones that have micro intervalis aspects. Form of composition music gamelan "Noname and Nothing" has three large sections and each section has a two small parts. Each of these parts, has a different structure. However, these parts are connected with the presence of several motifs and figures that are repeated in several parts of the composition.
