Abstract

Terdapat anggapan bahwa mata pelajaran IPS menjenuhkan, hal ini berdampak pada minat belajar siswa terhadap mata pelajaran IPS yang masih kurang. Diketahui bahwa guru lebih banyak menggunakan model pembelajaran biasa yaitu konvensional dengan metode ceramah dibanding dengan model pembelajaran yang kreatif dan menarik. Untuk itu perlu mengganti dan memvariasikan model pembelajaran. Fokus tujuan dari penelitian yaitu 1) Untuk mengetahui terdapat atau tidaknya pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembeIajaran discovery learning terhadap minat siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. 2) Untuk mengetahui terdapat atau tidaknya pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimen dengan tipe desain yang diterapkan adalah nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. Populasi dan sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 50 siswa dari kelas 5. Pengisian angket dan tes sebagai instrumen penelitian yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa 1) Terdapat pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Hal ini diketahui melalui hasil angket siswa dan hasil analisis independent samples test (t-test) yang memperoleh nilai Sig. (2- tailed) lebih kecil dari 0,05. 2) Terdapat pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS. Dapat dilihat pada hasil pelaksanaan postes, diperoleh nilai rata-rata yang berbeda antara kelas ekperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen adalah sebesar 86,84 sedangkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh kelas kontrol adalah 66,32. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat bagi peneliti dan semua pihak yang terlibat dalam pelaksanaan penelitian. Kata Kunci: Discovery learning, minat, hasil belajar ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF THE DISCOVERY LEARNING MODEL ON STUDENTS' INTEREST AND SOCIAL STUDIES LEARNING OUTCOMES By Cucun Cahyani 1904513 There is an assumption that social studies subjects are saturated, this has an impact on student learning interest in social studies subjects which is still lacking. It is known that teachers prefer and use conventional learning models, namely conventional lecture methods compared to creative and interesting learning models. For this reason, it is necessary to replace and vary the learning model. The focus of the research objectives is 1) To find out whether there is an effect of using discovery learning learning models on students' learning interest in social studies subjects. 2) To find out whether there is an effect of using discovery learning learning models on student learning outcomes in social studies subjects. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The population and sample in this study were 50 grade 5 students. Questionnaires and tests were used as research instruments. The results of the study prove that 1) There is an influence of the application of the discovery learning learning model on students' learning interest in social studies subjects. This is known through the results of the student questionnaire and the results of the independent sample test (t-test) analysis obtained by Sig. (2-tailed) smaller than 0.05. 2) There is an influence of the application of the discovery learning learning model on student learning outcomes in social studies subjects. Seen in the results of the implementation of the posttest, the average value obtained is different between the experimental class and the control class. The average value obtained by the experimental class was 86.84 while the average value obtained by the control class was 66.32. It is hoped that the results of this study can be useful for researchers and all parties involved in conducting research. Keywords: Discovery learning, interest, learning outcomes
