Abstract
This paper entitled “Memorization Model to Enhance the Lexicon Knowledge of Second Grade of Senior High School Students (Quasi of Experimental Study towards Second Grade of 3 Senior High School Student Bandung, Period of Study 2011-2012)”. This study is emerged by many students who are not mastering Sundanese vocabulary (lexicon). Whereas the skill of language need pretty lexicon which could determined the competence of the language itself. Based on the data from 3 Senior High School Bandung, 2011-2012, there were about 21,70% second grade Senior high school students who were not be able to speak Sundanese, whereas Bandung is one of a big city in West Java which the inhabitant speaks Sundanese. For that reason, this study is implemented to describe : (1) syntax of memorization model (mnemonic); (2) basic knowledge of Sundanese Lexicon of XI IPA 9 Three Senior High School Students Bandung year of 20119-2012 before using memorization model (mnemonic); (3) last knowledge of Sundanese Lexicon of XI IPA 9 Three Senior High School Students Bandung year of 20119-2012 after using memorization model (mnemonic); and (4) the affectivity level of memorization model (mnemonic) in enhancing Sundanese lexicon knowledge XI IPA 9 Three Senior High School Students Bandung year of 20119-2012. The method which is used in this study is a quasy of experimental study; a study that use experimental class without control group. The source of data is XI IPA 9 Three Senior High School Students Bandung year of 2011-2012. The tabulation of the data on this study is carried out through characteristic data testing, gain testing, and hypothesis testing. The characteristic data testing consists of normality testing and homogeneity testing. The result of normality testing shows that the distribution of the data is normal, based on the first test ({10;X^2{11;_count < {10;X^2{11;_table is 6,65 < 11,34) and the last test ({10;X^2{11;_(A533;j54;A533;ount) < {10;X^2{11;_table is-21,94 < 11,3). The percentage of the beginning test on average is 46,61% and the last testing 73.44% with 26,83% differences. The result of distribution variance homogeneity testing of basic test and last test with using the reliability is homogen (F_count < F_table), that is 1,99 < 2,61. Whereas through hypothesis testing using the reliability 99% is got the last result t_count> t_(table,) that is 130 > 2,70. Because there’s significant differences between the basic test and the last test, so the hyphotesis activity (Ha) is a learning model of memorization (mnemonic), effective use in learning the lexicon on XI IPA 9 Three Senior High School Students Bandung year of 2011-2012. Skripsi ini berjudul “Modél Memorization (Mnemonik) pikeun Ngaronjatkeun Pangaweruh Léksikon Siswa Kelas XI SMA (Studi Kuasi Ékspérimén ka Siswa Kelas XI IPA 9 SMA Negeri 3 Bandung Taun Ajaran 2011-2012).” Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh semakin sedikitnya siswa menguasai kosakata (leksikon) bahasa Sunda. Padahal keterampilan berbahasa itu membutuhkan leksikon yang cukup yang dapat menentukan kualitas bahasanya. Dari data yang diperoleh di SMA Negeri 3 Bandung tahun 2011-2012, ada sekitar 21,70% siswa kelas XI yang tidak dapat berbicara menggunakan bahasa Sunda, padahal Bandung adalah salah satu kota di Jawa Barat yang notabene penduduknya berbahasa Sunda. Untuk itu, penelitian ini dilaksanakann untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) tahapan-tahapan (syntax) model memorization (mnemonik); (2) pengetahuan awal leksikon bahasa Sunda siswa kelas XI IPA 9 SMA Negeri 3 Bandung tahun ajaran 2011-2012 sebelum menggunakan model memorization (mnemonik); (3) pengetahuan ahir leksikon bahasa Sunda siswa kelas XI IPA 9 SMA Negeri 3 Bandung tahun ajaran 2011-2012 setelah menggunakan model memorization (mnemonik); dan (4) tingkat efektivitas model memorization (mnemonik) dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan leksikon bahasa Sunda siswa kelas XI IPA 9 SMA Negeri 3 Bandung tahun ajaran 2011-2012. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen yaitu penelitian yang menggunakan kelas eksperimen tanpa adanya kelas kontrol. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas XI IPA 9 SMA Negeri 3 Bandung tahun ajaran 2011-2012. Proses pengolahan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui uji sifat data, uji gain, dan uji hipotesis. Uji sifat data terdiri dari uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukan bahwa distribusi datanya normal, berdasarkan tes awal ({10;X^2{11;_itung < {10;X^2{11;_tabel yaitu 6,65 < 11,34) dan tes ahir ({10;X^2{11;_itung < {10;X^2{11;_tabél yaitu-21,94 < 11,3). Persentase rata-rata tes awal 46,61% dan tes ahir 73,44% dengan selisih 26,83%. Hasil uji homogenitas distribusi variansi data tes awal dan tes ahir dengan menggunakan taraf kepercayaan 99% adalah homogen (F_itung < F_tabél) yaitu 1,99 < 2,61. Sedangkan melalui uji hipotesis menggunakan taraf kepercayaan 99% didapatkan hasil ahir t_itung> t_(tabél,) yaitu 130 > 2,70. Karena adanya beda yang signifikan antara tes awal dan tes ahir, maka hipotesis kerja (Ha) yaitu model pengajaran memorization (mnemonic) efektif digunakan dalam pengajaran leksikon di kelas XI IPA 9 SMA Negeri 3 Bandung tahun ajaran 2011-2012.A
