Abstract

Environmental problems are part of social problems. Not all people have awareness of their own environment. One of the areas faced by these problems is the City of Cimahi. Because of this, the Cimahi City Government released the Cimahi Barengras program which aims to solve these problems and increase public awareness of the environment. Responses, as well as community participation are certainly a major part of the program's sustainability. This study aims to explore the community's response to the Cimahi Barengras program, especially in the Leuwigajah Village. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire which was distributed online via Google Form with 394 respondents from 20 community units. Meanwhile, the results of this study include: (1). the response of the Leuwigajah Village community to the Cimahi Barengras program is in the moderate category (2). in terms of their understanding, attitudes, and actions which are summarized in cognitive, affective, and conative responses, the environmental awareness of the Lewigajah Village community is in the moderate category, (3). based on the results of the analysis of influence, social and economic conditions of the community influence the community's response to the Cimahi Barengras program with a relationship percentage of 1.56 percent, and is included at a very weak level of influence, meanwhile, the rest are influenced by other factors not examined in this study. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the people of Leuwigajah Village gave a positive response to the Cimahi Barengras program.
