Abstract

Komunitas dukungan sosial secara nyata saat ini sudah semakin aktif menyasar kelompok-kelompok marjinal, salah satunya kelompok mantan narapidana. Beriringan dengan kemajuan teknologi, media digital juga banyak dimanfaatkan untuk membangun komunitas virtual yang memberikan berbagai dukungan sosial secara online. Penelitian ini menganalisis tentang peran komunitas daring mantan narapidana dalam membangun budaya suportif pada Komunitas ‘X-Residivist Indonesia’ di Facebook. Adapun latar belakang penelitian ini dilakukan karena masih belum banyak fokus penelitian yang mengkaji komunitas daring mantan narapidana dalam membangun budaya suportif. Padahal menurut berbagai literatur menyebutkan beberapa orang mulai beralih ke komunitas virtual karena memiliki proporsi konten yang tinggi empati. Sehingga penelitian ini mengisi celah tersebut dengan tujuan untuk membedah motivasi founder membentuk komunitas, motivasi anggota bergabung dan bentuk dukungan yang dikonstruksi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode Netnografi menurut Kozinets. Observasi partisipatif, wawancara semi terstruktur dengan subyek penelitian sebanyak 8 informan, dan data pendukung dari analisis dokumen dilakukan. Hasilnya menunjukan motivasi founder membangun komunitas (berdasarkan pengalaman stigma dan keinginan memfasilitasi media komunikasi), motivasi anggota bergabung (motivasi sosial dan personal), dan bentuk dukungan yang dikonstruksi (dukungan emosional, instrumental dan informasi). Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah pola komunikasi komunitas daring mantan narapidana dalam membangun budaya suportif.

The social support community has become increasingly active in targeting
marginalized groups, one of which is the former aid group. Along with advances in
technology, digital media is also widely used to build virtual communities that
provide various online social supports. This research analyzes the role of a
community that dares to ask for help in building a culture of support for the 'XResidivist Indonesia' Community on Facebook. The background of this research is
because there are not many research focuses on studying communities that dare to
help in building a supporting culture. Even though according to various literature,
some people are starting to switch to virtual communities because they have a high
proportion of empathetic content. So this research fills this gap with the aim of
dissecting the motivation of the founders to form a community, the motivation of
members to join and the forms of support that are constructed. This study uses a
qualitative approach with the netnographic method according to Kozinets.
Participatory observation, semi-structured interviews with 8 research subjects, and
supporting data from document analysis were carried out. Successfully
demonstrated the motivation of the founders to build the community (based on the
experience of stigma and the desire to facilitate communication media), the
motivation of members to join (social and personal motivation), and the forms of
support that were constructed (emotional, instrumental and informational support).

to build a supporting cultur
