Abstract

Salah satu tantangan dalam dunia pendidikan adalah menghasilkan lulusan dengan keseimbangan yang baik antara akademik, teknis, dan kemampuan employability. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh ketidaksesuaian karena terjadinya kesenjangan antara keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh lulusan sekolah menengah kejuruan dengan keterampilan yang dibutuhkan oleh dunia kerja yang menyebabkan rendahnya kualitas lulusan sekolah menengah kejuruan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan employability skills siswa dalam komunikasi; bekerja sama; manajemen diri; pemecahan masalah; dan belajar setelah model pembelajaran project based learning diterapkan, dan untuk mengetahui perkembangan employability skills siswa melalui project based learning. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik total sampling, dengan sampel siswa kelas XI APHP 2 SMK PPN Tanjungsari Tahun Ajaran 2021-2022 yang berjumlah 29 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui lembar kerja siswa, lembar observasi, dan lembar angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian employability skills siswa telah dicapai dengan baik. Employability skills siswa dapat berkembang dengan baik melalui model pembelajaran project based learning. Namun diperlukan perbaikan agar kemampuan siswa lebih optimal. Saran perbaikan pada model pembelajaran project based learning dilakukan melalui perbaikan faktor sarana dan prasarana. Sedangkan saran perbaikan pada employability skills agar dilakukan pengembangan secara terus menerus. One of the challenges in the world of education is to produce graduates with a good balance between academic, technical, and employability abilities. This research is motivated by a discrepancy due to the gap between the skills possessed by vocational high school graduates and the skills needed by the world of work which causes the low quality of vocational high school graduates. This study aims to determine the employability skills of students in communication; cooperate; self management; solution to problem; and learn after the project based learning model is applied, and to find out the development of students' employability skills through project based learning. This research includes quantitative descriptive research with the method used is classroom action research (CAR). The sample selection was carried out using a total sampling technique, with a sample of 29 students from class XI APHP 2 SMK PPN Tanjungsari for the academic year 2021-2022. Data collection techniques were carried out through student worksheets, observation sheets, and questionnaire sheets. The results of the study indicate that the achievement of students' employability skills has been well achieved. Students' employability skills can develop well through a project based learning model. However, improvements are needed so that students' abilities are more optimal. Suggestions for improvement in the project-based learning model are carried out through improving facilities and infrastructure factors. Meanwhile, suggestions for improvement on employability skills should be developed continuously.
