Abstract

Latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini karena adanya krisis moral di kalangan anak-anak jaman sekarang yang perilakunya kurang baik. Salah satu upaya untuk menangani masalah ini yaitu bisa dengan melalui pembelajaran di sekolah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan: (1) mendeskripsikan struktur cerita dalam novel Pelesir ka Basisir karya Risnawati, (2) menganalisis nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam novel Pelesir ka Basisir karya Risnawati, (3) novel Pelesir ka Basisir karya Risnawati sebagai alternatif bahan pembelajaran membaca novel di SMP. Tehnik yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu studi pustaka. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu struktur cerita dalam novel Pelesir ka Basisir karya Risnawati yang meliputi tema, fakta cerita (alur, tokoh, latar), dan sarana sastra (judul, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa). Nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam novel Pelesir ka Basisir karya Risnawati ini lengkap, meliputi semua 18 nilai pendidikan karakter dari Kemendiknas. Novel Pelesir ka Basisir juga memenuhi syarat kriteria dalam memilih bahan ajar untuk dijadikan bahan pembelajaran membaca novel di SMP. This research is motivated by a moral crisis among today's children whose bad behavior. One of the efforts to deal with this problem is through learning at school. Therefore, this study has the following objectives to: (1) describe the structure of the story in novel Pelesir ka Basisir by Risnawati, (2) analyze the value of character education that contained in novel Pelesir ka Basisir by Risnawati, (3) novel Pelesir ka Basisir by Risnawati as alternative materials for learning to read novels in junior high school. The technique used in this research is literature study. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The result of this research is the structure novel Pelesir ka Basisir by Risnawati which includes themes, story facts (plot, characters, setting), and literary means (title, point of view, style). The values of character education that contained in the novel Pelesir ka Basisir by Risnawati include all the value of character education from Kemendiknas. The novel Pelesir ka Basisir also fulfills the criteria in choosing teaching materials to be used as learning materials for reading novels in junior high school.
