Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan desain awal, hasil validasi dan uji coba kepasa siswa serta produk akhir dari buku cerita bergambar berbasis discovery learning yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena siswa di kelas 3 sekolah dasar kurangnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi energi yang disebabkan karena pembelajaran yang kurang memberikan kesempatan siswa berperan aktif memperoleh pemahamannya sendiri, hal ini dapat diatasi dengan mengembangkan media buku cerita bergambar berbasis discovery learning. Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan atau Design and Development (DnD) dengan model ADDIE. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran instrumen angket validasi kepada ahli materi, media, dan praktisi yaitu guru kelas 3. Penelitian ini diawali dengan tahap analisis masalah, sehingga dapat dirancang desain produk awal dimana buku cerita bergambar disusun berdasarkan sintaks model discovery learning yaitu pemberian rangsangan, identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, pembuktian dan penarikan kesimpulan. Produk awal yang selesai dibuat, kemudian dilakukan pengujian berupa validasi oleh ahli materi, media dan praktisi yaitu guru kelas 3. Produk akhir dari buku cerita bergambar berbasis discovery learning dihasilkan setelah melakukan beberapa revisi berupa mengubah warna teks, mengubah ilustrasi, mengedit teks dan menambahkan video. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku cerita bergambar berbasis discovery learning dikembangkan dengan mengikuti setiap langkah model discovery learning dimana hasil persentase kelayakannya menunjukkan kategori sangat layak namun masih diperlukan beberapa revisi dari segi sistematika, teks, dan ilustrasi. This study aims to describe the initial design, the results of validation and testing to students and the final product of the discovery learning-based illustrated story book that was developed. This research is motivated because students in grade 3 elementary school lack students' understanding of energy material due to learning that does not provide opportunities for students to play an active role in gaining their own understanding, this can be overcome by developing a picture story book media based on discovery learning. This research is a development or Design and Development (DnD) with the ADDIE model. Data collection techniques were carried out through the distribution of a validation questionnaire instrument to material experts, media, and practitioners, namely grade 3 teacher. This research begins with the problem analysis stage, so that an initial product design can be designed where the picture story book is compiled based on the syntax of the discovery learning model, namely providing stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, proving and drawing conclusions. The initial product that was finished was then tested in the form of validation by material experts, media and practitioners, namely grade 3 teachers. The final product of the discovery learning-based picture story book is produced after making revisions in the form of changing the color of the text, changing illustrations, editing the text and adding videos. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the discovery learning-based illustrated storybook was developed by following each step of the discovery learning model where the results of the feasibility percentage indicate a very feasible category but still need some revisions in terms of systematics, text, and illustrations.
