Abstract
Studi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya fenomena bahwa kemampuan menulis siswa sekolah dasar masih rendah. Oleh karena itu, perlu ditemukan faktor-faktor penyebab dan solusi untuk mengatasi masalahnya. Penerapan strategi Sketsa Panorama dalam pembelajaran menulis di sekolah dasar diusulkan menjadi solusi alternatif yang akan digunakan oleh guru dalam pembelajaran menulis sehingga dicapai peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa. Penelitian akan menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan kelompok pembanding prates – pascates secara acak. Data penelitian ini berupa hasil tulisan siswa dan data hasil pengamatan. Data hasil pengumpulan diolah secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Sumber data utama adalah siswa SD Negeri Mangkubumi 3 Kota Tasikmalaya. Sumber data tambahan adalah guru bahasa Indonesia, keadministrasian dan sejumlah dokumentasi sekolah tersebut. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa kemampuan menulis siswa sekolah dasar meningkat setelah strategi sketsa panorama digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis kepada siswa tersebut. Nilai signifikasi prates – pascates kemampuan menulis siswa pada kelompok pembanding diperoleh 0,000, pada taraf kepercayaan 95%, nilai signifikasi ini kurang dari 0,05 sehingga Ho ditolak. Menurut hasil penelitian terbukti bahwa strategi Sketsa Panorama dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi. Hal itu membuktikan efektivitas pembelajaran menulis dengan menggunakan strategi Sketsa Panorama. The background of this study was based on the phenomena that the elementary student’s writing ability was low. Therefore, it was needed to find out the factors causing the problem and solution to overcome. The implementation of the Panorama Sketch strategy in teaching writing to the elementary school was proposed as the alternative solution. It would provide teacher for teaching writing that enable students to increase their writing ability. The study used the queasy experimental method with the randomized pretest – postest comparison group design. The data were collected in the form of students writing and observation result. The data collected were processed in quantitative and qualitative techniques. The main source of data was the students of SD Negeri Mangkubumi 3 Kota Tasikmalaya. The Indonesian teacher, administration and some elementary school documents were used as the additional source of the data. The result of this study proved that the elementary students’ writing ability increased after the teacher used the Panorama Sketch strategy in teaching writing to the students. The value of significance of the subjects and writing ability was 0,000, in the validity level of 95%, the value significance was less than 0,05, therefore, Ho was rejected. According to the research, the students’ ability in writing was increased after the Panorama Sketch strategy used in writing instructional activities.
