Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh perbandingan sosial terhadap kecemasan akademik yang dimoderasi oleh self efficacy pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Kota Bandung. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah insidental sampling dengan jumlah 350 orang mahasiswa dari berbagai universitas di Kota Bandung. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan alat ukur yang diadaptasi dari Academic Social Comparison Scale dari Pulford dkk (2017), adaptasi alat ukur Kecemasan Akademik oleh Toby (2018), dan adaptasi dari Self Efficacy Scale oleh Schwarzer, dkk (1996). Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa perbandingan sosial memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kecemasan akademik. Kemudian self efficacy juga berpengaruh terhadap kecemasan akademik. Namun, self efficacy tidak memoderasi terjadinya kedua variabel tersebut dan dapat dibuktikan dengan hasil nilai koefisien sebesar 0.365 (>0.05). Maka dapat dikatakan bahwa perbandingan sosial memiliki peranan terhadap kecemasan akademik dan self efficacy dapat meminimalisir perasaan kecemasan akademik namun tidak berperan sebagai moderasi antara perbandingan sosial dengan kecemasan akademik pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Kota Bandung. The purpose of this research is to see the effect of social comparison on academic anxiety moderated by self efficacy on final-year students in Bandung. The design of this study is using quantitive method. The data collection technique used is incidental sampling with 350 subjects of final-year students from many universities in Bandung. Data collection was done with an adapted instrument from Academic Social Comparison Scale by Pulford et al (2017), the Academic Anxiety Scale by Toby (2018), and Self Efficacy Scale by Schwarzer et al (1996). The technique of data analysis that was used is multiple regressions. The result of this research shows that social comparison had significantly impacted academic anxiety. Then, self efficacy also had an impact on academic anxiety. But self efficacy can’t moderate the two other variables to happen and it was proven by the coefficient number that is 0.365 (>0.05). The conclusions of this study are social comparison has an influence on academic anxiety and self efficacy can minimize the feeling of academic anxiety but can’t be the moderator between social comparison and academic anxiety on final-year students in Bandung.
