    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya potensi dari mata pelajaran sejarah unuk memeperkuat rasa nasionalisme siswa-siswi Papua Program Afirmasi Pendidikan Menengah (ADEM) dan menciptakan resolusi konflik terhadap berbagai masalah yang terjadi di Papua. Masalah Papua sudah mencul sejak kepemimpinan Presiden Soekarno hingga Joko Widodo. Papua menjadi wilayah yang cukup menarik perhatian nasional bahkan internasional. Isu-isu kemanusiaan, rasisme, kesenjangan sosial, pendidikan, ketidak merataan ekonomi dan insfrastuktur hingga wacana kemerdekaan Papua merupakan sejumlah masalah yang hingga saat ini belum bisa diselesaian hingga saat ini. Berangkat dari permasalah ini maka mucul suatu pertanyaan “Bagaimana peranan dan kontribusi pendidikan sejarah terhadap cara panadang siswa-siswi Papua yang sedang mengeyam pendidikan di kota Bandung, terhadap nasionalisme dan konflik yang terjadi di daerah asalnya ?” Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode etnografi tipe Creswell. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa seluruh siswa Papua program ADEM memandang bahwa konflik Papua bertentangan dengan nasionalisme, namun konflik tersebut tidak bisa dipandang sebagai kesalahan masyarakat Papua saja tetapi disebabkan oleh berbagai macam faktor yang menyebabkan rakyat Papua kecewa. Nasionalisme dalam diri siswa Papua, telah mengalami penggandaan. Berdasarkan beberapa pendapat siswa Papua, mereka tidak setuju Papua merdeka, ada juga yang setuju Papua merdeka. Pendidikan sejarah memiliki peran penting dalam membangun rasa nasionalisme dan menciptakan resolusi konflik. Upaya tersebut bisa dilakukan dengan cara mengajarkan nilai-nilai esensial yang ada di dalam peristiwa sejarah

    This research is motivated by the potential of historical subjects to strengthen the sense of nationalism of Papuan students of the Secondary Education Affirmation Program (ADEM) and create conflict resolution to various problems that occur in Papua. The Papua problem has emerged since the presidency of Soekarno until Joko Widodo. Papua have always attracted national attention, or even international. The problems of humanity, racism, social inequality, education, economic inequality, infrastructure, and discourse of Papuan independence are a number of problems that have not been resolved. Based on this problem, a question arises "What are the role and contribution of historical education to the point of view of Papuan students’ point of view who are studying in Bandung, to nationalism and conflict in their homelands?. This research uses a qualitative approach under the Creswell's ethnographic method. The results of the study show that all Papuan students of the ADEM program perceive that Papua conflict contradicts nationalism. However, the conflict cannot be considered as the fault of the Papuan itself. It seems to be caused by various factors that lead to the Papuan's disappointment. Nationalism in Papuan students' have been divided. Based on Papuan students which have been interviewed, there were several students who did not agree to the independence of Papua, and some of them agreed to the independence of Papua. Historical education has an important role in building a sense of nationalism and becomes the resolution of the conflict. Those can be done by teaching the essential values existing in historical events.
