Abstract

ABSTRAK Literasi ekologi mencakup pengetahuan, pemahaman, sikap, nilai dan tindakan seseorang terhadapap lingkungannya. Literasi ekologi perlu dimiliki oleh masyarakat nelayan untuk menghadapi dan menyelesaikan masalah lingkungan di sekitarnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini secara umum adalah untuk memberikan gambaran tentang literasi ekologi dan perolehannya pada masyarakat nelayan Sancang, kecamatan Cibalong, kabupaten Garut, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah masyarakat yang berprofesi sebagai nelayan. Data literasi ekologi diperoleh melalui wawancara yang terdiri dari 5 aspek, yaitu demografi, pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan serta perolehannya. Instrumen aspek sikap dan tindakan diadaptasi dari New Ecological Paradigm (NEP) dan menggunakan skala Likert sedangkan aspek pengetahuan diadaptasi dari prinsip-prinsip ekologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat nelayan Sancang memiliki aspek pengetahuan yang baik dengan skor 85%; aspek sikap positif dengan 67% modus ≥4; dan aspek tindakan positif dengan 67% modus ≥4. Perolehan pengetahuan pada masyarakat nelayan Sancang berasal dari Orang tua, Teman, sekolah, pemerintah, autodidak dan organisasi masyarakat. Peran terbesar perolehan pengetahuan adalah Orang tua (24%) dan yang terkecil organisasi masyarakat (6%). Fishermen must have ecological knowledge to deal with and solve any environmental problems. This study aims to describe the ecological literacy of fishermen communities in Sancang, Cibalong District, Garut Regency, West Java. Descriptive research was conducted on people who have jobs as fishermen. Ecological literacy data was collected through the interview method which consisted of 5 aspects, including the demographics, knowledge, attitudes and actions and how to obtain them. The attitude and action instruments were adapted from the New Ecological Paradigm (NEP) and the Likert scale of confidence, while the knowledge aspect was constructed based on the ecological principles. The results showed that the Sancang fishermen communities has a good knowledge aspect with a score 85%; 67% of the fishermen had positive response to aspects of attitude with mode ≥4; 67% of fishermen also had positive response to aspects of action with mode ≥4. Fishermen communities got the knowledge of ecological literacy from parents, friends, school, government, through independent learning and civil society. The parents gave the greatest influence (24%) while civil society contributed had the lowest (6%) contribution to the fishermen’s aspect of knowledge of the ecological society Keywords: Ecological Literacy, Knowledge, Attitudes, Actions, Knowledge Acquisition, Fishermen Community, Sancang.
