Abstract

Keterbatasan yang signifikan pada kemampuan beradaptasi menjadikan anak dengan hambatan kecerdasan memunculkan perilaku maladaptif yaitu dengan melakukan tindakan yang aneh, tidak lazim, dan tidak sesuai dengan lingkungan. Perilaku maladaptif yang ditunjukkan oleh salah satu anak dengan hambatan kecerdasan di SLB Negeri B Garut menjadi permasalahan bagi lingkungan sekitar. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memperoleh pengembangan strategi penanganan perilaku maladaptif bagi anak dengan hambatan kecerdasan melalui School-Wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus dengan teknik analisis data analisis deskriptif. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku maladaptif subjek bersifat individual yaitu perilaku agresif baik secara verbal maupun non verbal. Sekolah belum memiliki strategi penanganan yang terstruktur dan sistematis, belum terciptanya kolaborasi serta kerjasama di lingkungan sekolah, menyebabkan kurang optimalnya penanganan yang diberikan. Hasil temuan empirik kemudian dianalisis dan dikaji melalui studi literatur serta validasi sehingga menghasilkan pengembangan strategi penanganan SW-PBS untuk anak dengan hambatan kecerdasan. Strategi SW-PBS atau pemberian dukungan perilaku pada tatanan sekolah merupakan strategi yang sistematis dan holistik yang hadir sebagai suatu solusi bagi permasalahan yang muncul pada penelitian ini. Serta dalam pelaksanaanya difokuskan pada pembentukkan program yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan anak. Significant limitations in the ability to adapt make children with intellectual disability show maladaptive behavior, namely by taking actions that are strange, unusual, and incompatible with the environment. The maladaptive behavior shown by one of the children with intellectual disabilities in SLB-B Garut State is a problem for the surrounding environment. The purpose of this research is to obtain a hypothetical strategy in dealing with maladaptive behavior children’s. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method with descriptive analysis data and analysis techniques. Research shows that the subject's maladaptive behavior is individual who have maladaptive behavior is aggressive behavior both verbally and non-verbally. Schools do not have yet a structured and systematic handling strategy collaboration and cooperation has not been created in the school environment, causing less optimal handling. The empirical findings were then analyzed and reviewed through literature studies and validation, resulting in the development of a SW-PBS handling strategy for children with intelligence. The SW-PBS strategy or providing behavioral support in school settings is a systematic and holistic strategy which is present as a solution to the problems that arise in this study. And the implementation is focused on the formation of programs that are tailored to the needs of children.
