Abstract

NIM 1802716. Group Counseling Design with Techniques Self-Management to Reduce Disruptive Behavior in SMA Negeri 2 Sukabumi City. Thesis. Guidance and Counseling Study Program. Faculty of Science Education. Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Supervisor: (I) Dr. Nani, M. Sugandhi, M. Pd., (II) Dr. Ilfiandra, M. Pd. Disruptive behavior in the classroom has a negative impact on the learning process, disrupting the learning of students, teachers, and the class as a whole. If carried out continuously without appropriate intervention, disruptive behavior can develop into a classroom or school culture, disrupting the mission, goals, order, academic atmosphere, operations, processes, and academic functions of the school. The purpose of this research is to describe the type of disruptive behavior, develop a group counseling intervention design with techniques self-management to reduce disruptive behavior, and describe the results of expert and practitioner validation of the design of group counseling interventions with techniques self-management to reduce disruptive behavior. Research using descriptive methods, with multiple level of unit analysis purposeful sampling techniques was conducted on students of 10th Grade Social Science1-3-6, and 10th Grade Language and Culture of SMAN 2 Sukabumi City 2019/2020 Academic Year totaling 115 people and intervention design validators namely expert validators (guidance and counseling experts) and practitioner validators (guidance and counseling teachers) throughout the city of Sukabumi. The data collection instrument was a modified questionnaire from the Instrument Disruptive Behavior Scale Disruptive Behavior Scale Professed by Students (DBS-PS) developed by Feliciano H Veiga from Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal (2008), interview protocol for guidance and counseling teachers and subject teachers, interview guides for students, and validation instruments for experts and practitioners. DBS data is processed using statistical procedures descriptive and calculation of validity and reliability using the Rasch Model. The research findings show that the form of disruptive behavior at the study site is a type of distraction transgression, which is a type of disruptive behavior mild to moderate. A group counseling design using techniques was self-management developed to reduce the eight forms of disruptive behavior with the highest occurrence. Validation of experts and practitioners is done to get an assessment and suggestions regarding the interventions developed. The validation results show that the group counseling design with techniques self-management to reduce disruptive behavior is adequate or can be used as an alternative intervention.
