Abstract

Penelitian ini diawali dengan adanya kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis, khususnya menulis esai. Hasil penelitian awal menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menulis esai yang sudah dilakukan belumlah optimal. Masalah yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana profil pembelajaran menulis esai yang sudah berlangsung selama ini, bagaimana proses pembelajaran menulis esai dengan menggunakan model pemecahan-masalah secara kreatif berbasis kecerdasan interpersonal, dan efektivitas penerapan model pemecahan-masalah secara kreatif berbasis kecerdasan interpersonal dalam pembelajaran menulis esai. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan tipe the matching-only pretest-posttest control group design terhadap mahasiswa semester VII, Program Studi Teknik Industri, Universitas Pasundan. Penentuan kelas eksperimen dan kontrol tidak dilakukan secara acak yang berjumlah 30 mahasiswa di kelas eksperimen dan 30 mahasiswa di kelas kontrol. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi, angket, wawancara, dan tes kemampuan menulis esai. Hasil tes kemampuan menulis esai kemudian dianalisis dengan uji statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan data berupa kemampuan awal menulis esai pada kelas ekpserimen rata-rata = 44,1, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol rata-rata = 44,6. Kemampuan akhir menulis pada kelas eksperimen rata-rata = 75,4, sedangkan kelas kontrol rata-rata = 65,03. Hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji independent sample t-test.menunjukkan nilai signifikansi yang diperoleh adalah 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil tersebut membuktikan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang siginifikan antara kemampuan menulis esai mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan kemampuan menulis esai pada kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian, model pemecahan-masalah secara kreatif berbasis kecerdasan interpersonal efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis esai ------ This research began with the need to improve writing skills, especially essay writing. The results of the initial research indicate that learning to write essays that have been done is not optimal. The problem examined in this study is how the learning profile of writing essays that has been going on so far, how the learning process of writing essays using creative problem-solving models based on interpersonal intelligence, and the effectiveness of applying creative problem-solving models based on interpersonal intelligence in essay writing learning. This study uses a quasi-experiment with the type of thematching-only pretest-posttest control group design for VII semester students, Industrial Engineering Study Program, Pasundan University. The determination of the experimental and control classes was not done randomly, amounting to 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. The data in this study were collected through observation sheets, questionnaires, interviews, and essay writing ability tests. The result of the essay writing ability test were then analyzed by stastitical tests The results showed the data in the form of the initial ability to write essays on the average experimental class = 44.1, while in the average control class = 44.6. The final ability to write in the experimental class averages = 75.4, while the average control class = 65.03. The results of hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test test showed the significance values obtained were 0,000 <0,05. These results prove that there are significant differences between the ability of student essay writing in the experimental class with the ability to write essays in the control class. Thus, a creative problem-solving model based on interpersonal intelligence is effectively applied in learning essay writing
