Abstract

Anak tunarungu mengalami hambatan dalam mengucapkan huruf konsonan P sehingga berdampak sulitnya pesan yang disampaikan kepada lawan bicranya. Salah satu cara untuk melatih pengucapannya yaitu dengan latihan artikulasi. Mouth Training adalah salah satu cara latihan artikulasi yang berfungsi untuk melatih mulut, lidah, rahang, dan rongga mulut dalam pengucapan huruf, kata, hingga kalimat.. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui apakah penggunaan metode Mouth Training mampu meningkatkan kemampuan mengucapkan huruf konsonan P pada siswa tunarungu kelas 3 di SLB-B Prima Bhakti Mulia. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada subjek RR kelas 3. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Single Subjek Research (SSR) dengan desain penelitian A-B-A. Hasil penelitian, diperoleh mean level baseline-1 (A-1), mean level intervensi (B), dan mean level baseline-2 (A-2) mengalami peningkatan. Adanya perubahan tersebut menunjukan bahwa metode Mouth Training dapat meingkatkan kemampuan mengucapkan huruf konsonan P pada anak tunarungu. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan bahan pertimbangan oleh guru dalam memberikan latihan artikulasi pada siswa tunarungu untuk meningkatkan kemampuan artikulasi bicaranya. Deaf children experience obstacles in saying consonant P thus impacting the difficulty of the message conveyed to other. One way to train pronouncing is by articulation practice. Mouth training is one way to train articulation that the function is to train mouth, tongue, jaw, and oral cavity in pronouncing letter, word, to sentence. Mouth training also articulation practice which aim to improve pronounciation ability, speak word carefully, to practice particular sound. The aim of the study is to find out the influence of mouth training method to improve the ability pronouncing P sound to deaf and mute student class 3 at SLB-B Prima Bhakti Mulia. The research methodology using single subject research (SSR) with A-B-A research design. The changing shows that mouth training method give positive influence and it can improve the ability to pronouncing P sound toward deaf and mute student. The conclusion of the research expected can become consideration for teacher to give articulation practice to deaf and mute student. To improve the ability of articulation.
