Abstract

Holothuroidea dikenal sebagai teripang yang merupakan salah satu kelas dari filum Echinodermata. Holothuroidea memiliki peranan penting secara ekonomis karena kandungan nutrisinya yang tinggi dan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku obat-obatan serta bahan baku makanan. Selain itu, Holothuroidea mempunyai fungsi ekologis sebagai pengurai zat organik didalam sedimen, melepaskan atau menghasilkan nutrisi ke dalam rantai makanan dan sebagai bioindikator pencemaran air laut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan keragaman jenis dan kelimpahan Holothuroidea di zona intertidal Pantai Leuweung Sancang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada malam hari saat surut terendah pada bulan Februari sampai Maret 2018, dengan menggunakan metode belt transect. Hasil yang diperoleh dari keempat stasiun penelitian, ditemukan 11 jenis yang berasal dari 2 ordo (Aspidochirotida dan Apodida), 3 familia (Holothuriidae, Stichopodidae dan Synaptidae) dan 6 genus (Actinopyga, Bohadschia, Holothuria, Stichopus, Opheodesoma dan Synapta). Jenis Holothuroidea dengan nilai indeks kelimpahan tertinggi yaitu Holothuria leucospilota dan nilai indeks kelimpahan terendah yaitu Stichopus quadrifasciatus. Nilai indeks keragaman (H’) tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun I yaitu 1,711 dan nilai indeks keragaman (H’) terendah terdapat pada stasiun III yaitu 1,049. Keragaman jenis Holothuroidea tersebut tergolong sedang. Beberapa faktor abiotik yang memengaruhi keragaman jenis Holothuroidea adalah suhu, pH dan sailinitas. Hasil pengukuran faktor abiotik didapatkan suhu dengan rentang 26,4-28,5 oC, derajat keasaman (pH) dengan tentang 6,9-7 dan salinitas dengan rentang 31- 32 0/00.;---Holothurioidea is well known as Sea Cucumber is one of the classes from the Echinodermata phylum. Holothuroidea are economically important because of its high nutritional content, another benefit is it can be used medicine and food raw material. In addition, sea cucumber has an ecological function as an organic decomposer in sediment and nutrient producer within a food chain and also as bioindicator of sea water pollution. The aimed of this research to describe the diversity and abundance of Holothuroidea on the intertidal zone of the Leuweung Sancang Coast. This research was conducted at night during the lowest tide from February to March 2018, by using belt transect method. Results showed that from all research stations, 11 species of sea cucumbers were found, and these species derived from 2 order (Aspidochirotida and Apodida), 3 families (Holothuriidae, Stichopodidae and Synaptidae) and 6 genera (Actinopyga, Bohadschia, Holothuria, Stichopus, Opheodesoma and Synapta). Holothuroidea that as the highest index of abundance is Holothuria leucospilota and the lowest index of abundance is Stichopus quadrifasciatus. The highest index of diversity (H’) is located at station I which is 1,711 and the lowest index of diversity (H’) is located at station III which is 1,049. The diversity of sea cucumbers is relatively medium. Some of abiotic factors that affecting the diversity of Holothuroidea are temperature, pH and sanility. As the result of abiotic factors measuring was obtained that range temperature was 26,4-28,5 oC, the range of acidity (pH) was 6,9-7 and the range of salinity was 31- 32 0/00.
